Will be interested to see the 'explanation' for why LA would take a lateral move from a staff that has been viewed as a cohesive unit.

Understandable thought without all the explanations given since beginning of this post. Now, it easy to understand and not a negative event. Family is an important part of the makeup of these guys. I believe they probably all support his decision.

Like most highly regarded assistant coaches, his career goal is to become a head coach. The best path to this end is usually to broaden your experiences by working at different schools under different coaches.

If he wants to be a head coach, this is probably a great move for him. Being a running backs coach is a far cry from a HC. He needs experience in the trenches, like a run-game coordinator at a minimum.

Selfishly, I had hoped Campbell's staff could stick together longer than just 2 seasons. The longer the better.

Sounds like a good move for Lou's career. He really upgraded the talent level and production of that position group in his time here. Best wishes!

Although Ayeni was great, I don't think ISU needs to spend more than 350k on their RB coach. That is a LOT of money in Ames, IA. He'll be making less, relatively speaking, by living in Chicago, unless NW is going to make him the highest paid RB coach in the country.

Can't blame a guy for wanting to coach at their alma mater though. I'd take less money if I could coach at ISU.
