I was just watching a little bit of the aTm/Okie St game. I was also watching the hideous ISU/CU game tonight, and I can understand why coaches get gray hair and have heart problems.

This got me to thinking, can McDermott do with ISU what Billy Gillespie has done with A&M? From 0-16 to possibly a Big XII title. Right now I'm a bit skeptical. Mizzou, and K-State are looking better. KU is KU and Doc Sadler has Nebraska respectable. This conference is only going to get better and even if we have some good recruits coming in the next couple of years, it seems like Texas and Okie State always get a half a dozen 4/5 star recruits each year.

Is Greg McDermott a Billy Gillespie caliber coach?

It's going to be tough because nearly all of the schools with new coaches feel really good about them right now and the simple fact is not all of them are going to make it. I think the league will be much, much better than it has been the last few years and back on par with the years we were sending multiple teams to the elite 8 and final four.
