This game will be big time for our basketball team, we know Bob Huggins is watching film from the Maryland game and now this South Carolina game. I fully expect another hack-fest and will be watching with interest to see what we do in response. To my eyes our team is built like a formula 1 race car and games like tonight feel like we are stuck in a dirty destruction derby!

If we are going to steal a win in Morgantown next week, we need to figure out how to beat this east coast brawl ball! Do I have it all wrong? Am I over reacting? What Do we need to learn from this loss that helps us beat the Mountaineers?

...and No I am not overlooking your Okie State team, Travis Ford.

Based on their style of play, the game @WVU is one of our toughest remaining games. I like our chances of beating KU (both at Hilton and AF) better than I do @WVU. Hopefully, our team can quickly learn how to win against those tough, physical defensive teams.

We could easily start the season 1-3 in the Big 12. We lost @ Baylor, @ West Virginia, and vs. Kansas last year, and they are games #2-4 this season.

Seems like making our season average on either one of FT's or 3PT'ers should just about do the trick. Not a difficult formula. We're very NBA like in that regard there's some minimum analytics that we need to reach and we win a large majority of any games that we play.

I had that as a win before but I'm changing it to a loss. When someone plays even a little rough with us we fall apart and don't know what to do. Our history there doesn't make me feel any better about it either. We should win, but we should have won today too and we didn't, and we will lose if only 1 guy out of our main 8 shows up again.

We win today's game and the Maryland game with last year's team. We're missing the mental toughness Ejim and Kane provided. Hopefully, some of the players will step up.

I think this team reminds me of the 12-13 team... just taller, deeper and faster. It took the 12-13 team a lot longer to figure things out. Kane was such a home run get for us last year! That guy would just impose his will on the game. This team still has to decide who has the ball in their hands when the going gets rough. All they need now is more high pressure game time to figure it out.

When it is all said and done I believe we have the ability to be a better team by the end of the year than any other in the history of Isu basketball. Taking the next step to that end means we need to win on the road in the big 12. That is why this first road game at WV is so big for us.

I think one key to winning these bone grinding games is: improving our defense. When we get deflections and steals and get out on the break we are a deadly Basketball team. Morris has great court awareness, Niang and Naz are deadly with rhythm fast break three’s and Mckay seems to have one speed: full throttle. If we can take our defense to the next level, I truly think the sky is the limit for this team.

Hogue and McKay need to make free throws to make themselves better.

I agree that if we just shoot a little better we win that game. Not only do we get some more points on the board but missing all those shots got to our heads. You could see that almost every player on the team forced at least 1 possession. It was like, since nothing was working, every guy was like, OK let me try to see if I can go 1v1 and get us some points. It's hard for anyone to get in a rhythm that way. Also, in the 2nd half it looked like we were trying to alter our shots around the rim too much expecting to be fouled and we ended up missing a bunch of dunks or bunnies without getting fouled.
