Asteroid City movie

Just saw this posted on Bryan Cranston's Facebook page. Absolutely loaded with names. Surprised I hadn't heard about it until now.

IMDB description is "The itinerary of a junior stargazer convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events". Sign me up

Was a preview when we went to see GotG3 this weekend. This one looks super weird.

I've seen a lot about it on Deadline. My personal experience is that for every recognizable actor beyond 3 or 4 in a movie, a movie's ranking drops a point in my book after seeing it. They're usually so over hyped and scattered trying to get enough of each character in the pic.

I really liked the Royal Tannenbaums, but other than that I'm not much of a WA fan.

A lot like Tarantino movies for me. I try to like them because people rave about them, but I just don't like most of them.

Tarantino and the Coen brothers are my favorites. Wes Anderson is more hit and miss with me, but all three strike my wife's tastes.

Nah but it’s a Wes Anderson. So it’s half the actors wanting to work with him for the SAG minimum and the other half him sticking them as a one liner character. Only a few will be meaningful characters just like most movies.

True but I'm gonna trust Wes Anderson in this case...

I was bummed to see it looks a lot like Don't Look Up, one of those star studded satire or parody films.

I was hoping it was going to be an old fashioned disaster movie like Airport or The Poseidon Adventure. I know, I'm aging myself, but I miss those disaster movies. :)

Scarlett and Margot.

Sup.

I'd like to check this out. Might just kind dwindle into a bunch of awkward scenes or something but it should still be interesting.

Don’t Look Up was fantastic!

Hope it’s not like Amsterdam, I like quirky movies, but that was too much.

I saw this preview when I went and saw SISU. It looks like a typical Wes Anderson movie, certainly not my type of movie. To each their own.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I've always felt QT was a much better writer than director. I like his stuff for sure, but I highly doubt True Romance, which QT wrote, would be my #1 movie of all time had QT directed it instead of Tony Scott.

As much as I love quirky movies, and as much as I've tried, I just overall don't like Wes Anderson. I LOVE Grand Budapest Hotel but think all of his other movies are boring and awful. This doesn't look good to me.

He hits me exactly where I live. I've extolled the virtues of The Life Aquatic, in other threads, but in my opinion, it might be my all time favorite film. And several of his other works rank very highly in my esteem as well.
His world building is nearly unmatched, as far as I'm concerned.
