Or ya know, we could just give him the death sentence and save a bunch of taxpayer dollars...

Sentences like these baffle me...

It may be more expensive but in situations like this, my belief is that you shoot that mofo straight between the eyes. Or I guess leathal injection if that is too harsh.

My feelings exactly. Could be done much cheaper.

You do realize it's a lot more expensive generally to kill someone than to let them rot in prison, right?

A firing squad is a lot less expensive than letting him rot in prison. Unfortunately that is viewed as inhumane. Never mind the fact that how he treated those women for however many years it was is far less humane than putting him in front of a firing squad ever would be...

Its not that the execution itself is more expensive, its that the legal process for those on death row is so much more time-consuming (and thus expensive) that it ends up costing much more. The guy's already 53, he'd probably be in his mid 60s before we executed him anyways given the average time it takes.

Prison is a bad place for sexual predators, especially with child victims. I'm sure he'll spend his time in solitary hell or get killed in prison.

If we just stopped worrying about possibly killing innocent people and do away with the appeals process we could just shoot them in the courtroom after the guilty verdict is read! It'd be stupid but we could sure do it.

I'm guessing this guy will not have fun in prison, either solitary or murdered.

I did know that it generally does cost more to go that route, but I never really looked up exactly how much it costs, which is ridiculous by the way.

I should have clarified "death sentence" as "take him out back and be done with it" instead.

I don't disagree with this at all, which is why I cringe at how states like Texas facilitate the death penalty. That being said, I think we can pretty much not worry that Castro's conviction was a wrong one, especially considering he was caught in the act.

Obviously he is guilty, but how many people have been on death row that were "obviously guilty" and then they were acquitted because of some new evidence? Those people are probably glad we didn't just shoot them between the eyes as some on here might want.

Which is why I said I cringe about how Texas carries out its capital punishment.
