Are we playing for more than a W tomorrow?

What if tomorrow's winner is a front-runner for HB's services? My simple mind sees it as the winner gains an inside track to get Barnes 2 years from now. I personally think he wants to stay closer to home than a UNC or Duke, and so he would pick between his home town team he grew up watching or the perennial NC contender in the Midwest, KU.

So if we win this game given both teams youth, would that lead to another reason for Barnes to lean our way. Add him to either team to take them to the next level. Thoughts.......
 
I don't know if tomorrow will decide much, but a win couldn't hurt our chances...I'd be interested to know if he's rooting for anyone in the game tomorrow, or just remaining neutral.
 
If it was between only us and Kansas I would agree. But I think both UNC and Duke are ahead of Kansas right now.

Amen brother. I am tired of going to a half empty quiet arena. If tomorrow isn't sold out and loud I will be completely embarrassed. You know the announcers will talk about the "magic" and I don't want a nation to see how poor it has been lately. I miss the old days...which for me was late 90's and early 00's, when it was deafening and everyone was on their feet 75% of the game.

The magic potion....WINNING...win and the Clone fans will come out of the woodwork.

I am unable to make it tomorrow due to work, but for those of you who are going...get loud and stay loud. We need to rattle their young guys and show them how tough it will be in Ames for their next four years.
 
I want to agree about UNC and Duke, but I think when push comes to shove, he'll stay closer to home even if it isn't ISU. I don't think his mom is going anywhere and I think that is a bigger factor than others would believe.
 
We may have to check with compliance on this one :)..but if he's there i hope theres several harrison barnes chants from the student section!!
 
I would find it hard to believe that a potential player would choose one school over another based on one game - unless it was down to those 2 teams and it was a national title game, and the players playing the same position said after the game they were leaving to turn pro.

Yeah, my buddy that works at Prairie Meadows saw Roy Williams playing craps early this afternoon. He is going to the game tonight I guess. My buddy thought he was playing craps with Danny Manning but he wasn't sure. That would make sense since Manning is in town for the ISU game tommorrow.

We play KU twice so I doubt 1 game would really make a huge impact on where he goes. I don't think any game really is the deciding factor in where a kid commits. Have you ever heard a guy say "well I was at the game they beat _______ and that's the reason I signed."

Sometimes it even works the opposite way (not that it would with Barnes)...Tinsley commited to us over Clemson and UNLV after he watched us get throttled in Hilton by Missouri, because he knew he would play.
 
A win would be just awesome espicially because HB is being recruited by Kansas. Iowa State needs to come out and just take it to them and keep on them the whole game. Coming out flat will kill us because this team just jumps all over you when they smell blood, that is what ISU needs to do tomorrow and I hope to god they do!!!!!! Oh and also we have a good group of young men here visiting for football. Go Clones lets get a win Guys!!!!
 
To me this isn't a deciding factor, but rather a snowflake that can snowball into an avalanche for us. He win, HB sees a first hand comparison of us versus the Have's in college basketball. It's stuck in his head that he could be the missing lnk for ISU to become a national power once again. This is the seed that blossoms over the next 2 years.
