Loved the book. The old mini series was decent. This new one is great...other than the time jumping flashbacks in the first few episodes. Owen King did a nice job with the screenplay besides that. Cast is good. You can tell they put some money into it with the cinematography and music.

I'm really enjoying it. I always loved the old one so it's hard to live up to but they did a pretty good job of casting. The same people need to make a dark tower series next.

100% agree on the Dark Tower. It almost seems like those books were written for a Netflix series. A feature film just wouldn't do it justice, and they screwed it up when they tried. If they can do The Witcher, they can do The Dark Tower. Those books were great.

Yep enjoying it so far. Great cast top to bottom but Owen Teague as Harold has really surprised me and I'd say he's been the standout. His ability to make you feel uncomfortable and on edge whenever he's on screen is top notch. Having said that, another young actor might wind up upstaging him. The little bit I saw of Ezra Miller as Trashcan Man (haven't seen the latest episode yet) has me very intrigued. My biggest complaint is Amber Heard and her dull, mediocre at best acting. A lot of people hate her because of her drama with Johnny Depp but I don't care about any of that. I just think she sucks the life out of most of the scenes she's in.

I gotta say, playing Radiohead I Promise as they’re walking off to Vegas was chefs kiss. Perfect song selection. And hardly anyone outside of Tarantino gets that right.

Good adaptation. I'd like to see Insomnia and Black House either done as a series or movie. Series seem to do much better given King's lllloooonnnngggg novels.

Where are you guys finding this. I found a movie called the Stand on Netlfix, but it looks different than what you are talking about.

I have been watching it and really like it. The fan reviews online need to be ignored, I have no idea what some of those psychos expect. I like the 90s mini series in it's cheesy way but this is light years better, with the possible exception of Gary Sinise as Stu and the old Abigale this is better in every way. New Flagg is great.

If only The Dark Tower could have been done like this in 7-10 seasons instead of the disappointing movie.

The online reviews for the all access Star Trek series are equally horrible. I get it for Discovery but Picard isn't that bad and Lower Decks is like a Trekkie nerd dream. I guess it's changing names to Paramount Plus in March?

Some seasons of the dark tower could be pretty cheap because it's almost normal world setting, they could set it in modern year to save production cost. Other seasons would be really expensive like a sci fi or fantasy series.

I would highly recommend checking out The Kingcast podcast series. They pretty much run a deep dive through a different book and its' adaptation with various guests. Some higher profile guests join in too. They also have a Patreon, with one podcast really diving deep into The Dark Tower movie and how we got to the finished product.
