Where's Manny gonna end up? Abreu? Miguel Cairo? Indians are gonna win the central..

Is anyone looking forward to the World Classic...

I was looking at the rosters the other day and there are some loaded teams. That isn't even counting Japan and the other asian teams where the players don't play in America.

I think that this will help me to get through the winter.

I hope the USA plays well, pry gonna get beat again..

I don't know the contract situations of the players involved, but at first glance, I liked the trade that the Cubs made.

All offseason I was thinking Manny would end up back with the Dodgers. I still think that will happen, but I hope we don't get the Manny that left Boston. If he doesn't get the kind of contract he wants, I'm afraid that's just what we'll get. Boras is really trying to convince people there are a lot of suiters for Manny. Too bad not many people are buying. My guess is Manny will end up with a 3-year guaranteed contract from the Dodgers somewhere around his $25 million/year asking price.

The headaches that go along with signing him (such as the antics) aren't worth paying the $25 million/year for his services - well, for most teams anyway...

I don't see why ANY NL team would be looking at Manny. He needs to be a DH.

He was one of my favorites when he was in Boston, but he sure flushed that away. Do you think Boras poisoned him on Boston?

I don't see the Dodgers offering Manny more than the 2 yrs $45mil they offered in Nov/Dec. No one else wants him.

If another team actually jumps in the Manny sweepstakes, I would bet (hope) the Dodgers would be willing to go 3 years @ $20 million + per year. Most Dodger fans think that anyway. It may or may not be true though.

Like, I don't know...say the TWINS

Are they going to sign Crede by the way? That would be weird to see him as a Twin.

If Crede could play a full season, it would be a HUGE upgrade for Minnesota.. They would have a nice right handed power bat and more than capable 3rd baseman.. That said, Crede can't play a full season..

I am hoping that the Cubs trade for Heilaman was a setup for Peavy.

He'll be the Cubs 5th starter, won't he? There was some talk of him closing in Seattle, but obviously that won't be the issue in Chicago.

I know he had bad numbers last year, but that seems to the be exception and not the norm. He has really good stuff. He seemed to kind of wear out his welcome in New York. I like the move for the Cubs.
