To answer the original question, I do not have such a permit, but it brings to mind a couple of fun things:

1) A few years ago, I remember the ISU boxing coach being absolutely ticked off because either the Daily or Tribune (probably the latter) published a list of people with concealed weapons permits.

2) Some missionaries we know that work in Brazil mention that you always carry some money in your shirt pocket for the time when you're mugged, so you have something to give them. I guess the feeling is that the muggers are less agitated if you've got something to give them.

While at A&M this past weekend i had a chance to read a couple of student government articles.

One of the debates among those running for student offices was if they supported the TX legislature debate to allow concealed carry permits to be allowed on campus.

I don't have one, but know several that do. Most of them do it for hunting reasons, ie you can leave your gun loaded in a vehicle and uncased.

I've thought about it for the same reasons, but am really too lazy to take the course.

I would never carry, and don't recommend it unless you have a very special circumstance.

I only know 1 person who has a permit to carry, but he's also a U.S. Marshall, so I guess he's got a pretty good reason.

I don't yet, but have several friends and co-workers who do. I own several handguns but don't feel a need to carry them very often. I may get it anyway though just because I can... You never know when it might come in handy.
