I just ordered one last night...wasn't going to get one as I have a PIxel 6 but with the trade-in value Google is giving me for my 6 as well as a 10% off any Google product Google had given me...I only had to pay about $40 to get the 7. Anyway, curious as to what people think about it if they have used one yet? My expectations are that I won't notice much difference from my 6 but for less than $50 I just couldn't pass it up.

Im curious, what has been your experience w the Pixel 6 (I got an iPhone at my wife’s request last time around… prior to that I was on android devices).

Pre-ordered the 7 Pro. I'm pretty happy with it, the couple of photos that I have taken have been amazing, and I like the clean interface. Data transfer from my old phone was simple. After the rebate from Verizon and the $200 google store credit, it was essentially free.

This happened to me too. I think I had the Pixel 3. When it was a time to get a new phone, my wife convinced me to get an iPhone (she has one, and I think we got a really good deal on it at the time too). I prefer the Pixel over the iPhone.

My wife and I both traded our Pixel 5's for Pixel 7's. They were "free" through Verizon when trading. Obviously can't compare against the 6, but here are our general thoughts:

- Cameras are great
- Screen is awesome
- Battery life for both of us is about the same - a bit concerning since our 5's were 2 years old and we are getting similar battery life out of the brand new phones
- Reception is worse....like way worse. I couldn't even make a phone call inside Hy-vee last weekend and my wife has dropped multiple calls driving between Ames and Des Moines
- Finger print sensor sucks compared to the one on the back of the phone
- Pretty much everything else the 5 did, the 7 does better

Other than the annoyances above, the wife loves her 7. Personally, I would go back to my 5 in a heartbeat, but thats largely due prefering the smaller size. I hate that a "small" phone these days is still 6"+

Edit: I realized this post sounded largely negative. I will add that overall Istill love my Pixel, there are just a few things about the 7 that I liked better on the 5. I have an iPhone for work and every time I use it, it reinforces how much I like my Pixel.

I couldn't agree more. People that have size expectations that big are ridiculous.

I've had the 7 for about a week. Everything seems fine except for a few apps and finger print reader don't work that great. Might be more on my screen protector than the phone.

I had a Pixel 5 as well a couple of years ago...I did prefer the finger print scanner on the back of the phone compared to the onscreen scanner on the 6. Hope the 7 is a bit more effective in that regard. The issue isn't terrible by any means...just occassionally annoying!

The camera is still my top issue with the 4 5G. My wife's iPhone absolutely kills it with picture quality. Same age on the phones and it's not even a contest

If you set up the fingerprint before adding the screen protector, re-setup the finger print now. It makes a massive difference.

I had the 6 as well. Google offered to update for $159 after tax but then gave me a $100 credit to the store. Seemed like a no-brainer. So far it is the 6 with all the small annoyances fixed. Very happy with the 7 after a week or so of ownership!

While I prefered the rear placement, I mostly meant that it was far more accurate. I would say the sensor on my 7 works ~60% of the time.

This is true, as well as turning on "screen protector mode" in the settings to increase sensitivity. I do believe that the fingerprint sensor has a "learning" aspet to it. I would honestly place my success rate somewhere around 20-30% for the first couple of days. It's probably closer to 60% now which is a lot better, but I still end up having to use my pattern way too often. I have been told that registering the same finger multiple times can increase accurace also, but I have not tried that yet.

The thing that sucks about fingerprint sensor on the front is if you destroy the glass. Found that out less than 2 weeks in on my s20+. It fell on the elliptical track while I was working out and I didn't stop and crushed it. It was impossible to unlock.

Coming from a Pixel 3xl I'm loving the 7. Best change has been Google Assistant being MUCH faster. Worst is getting used to the onscreen finger sensor. Going from 99% accuracy to 60% is annoying. I didn't realize front sensors light up the sensor to work and have been blinded a few times grabbing the phone at night. The face unlock is cool when it works, but you pretty much have to look at the phone straight on which isn't very natural.

I thought about getting the 7Pro, but a telephoto lens and better screen didn't seem worth $300 more.

Received my 7 yesterday. First impressions are that it runs almost exactly like my 6. I get that I wouldn't notice anything revolutionary. One thing that I seem to notice a lot is that the 7 feels much lighter than my 6 did. Not sure why...almost the exact same size. I like it...the phone feels fast...and the upgrade process was simple and quick. As I stated in my original post...this really didn't cost me much so I am not disappointed at all...was just hoping for something that felt new.

I miss the days when getting a new phone was a totally "new" experience. Or updating to a new Android/OS was exciting as well! Now you really have to dig deep to find differences in new phones/operating systems.
