Android 4.4.2 KitKat update

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 which is pestering me to update to KitKat 4.4.2. I read several articles and forum entries that say this is bug ridden and should be avoided. I've been kicking the can daily until I can find out more information. The article below says the S3 may never get beyond 4.4.2 because of it's age.

Has anybody installed 4.4.2 on their G3? Any suggestions outside of getting a new phone or keeping my can kicking skills in order?

I have it but I don't root it or anything. No I issues here.

This probably doesn't help you but I have 4.4.2 on my S5 and have no issues. Really loving this phone actually.

I didn't either. More digging suggests battery/charging issues seem to be the main concern. S5s seem to be spared.

I lost 4G-LTE capabilities on my Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 after the update. After not being able to fix it myself, I had to contact my provider. After they reset some things, I haven't had any problems.
