In their defense, they were under a winter storm warning. They got around six inches of snow with some wind. They aren't quite as adept at handling that as we are.
and earlier in the week they got hit pretty hard with the ice storm..many didnt have power early in the week
It seems like their crowds are pretty weak, anyway, compared to the home court advantage they once had at the Hearnes Center.
I went there 2 or 3 years ago and watched ISU and the crowd was horrible also...just not near the same it used to be
Since they built their new arena they have only had three sellout and that was the three times KU has played there. Every game I have seen of theirs there are open seats all over.
I loved going to games at the Hearns Center. I have not been to the new WalMart Arena. If you ever read Tigerboard.com, you will see lots of complaints about the atmosphere the new place. Just goes to show that you don't always win when you sell out to big corporate money.
Looks like they followed up their 4100 effort with 5,047 last night although some on Tigerboard are claiming even that was a major stretch. Must be the world's worst snowstorm.
