I guess he was the exception to the rule. He became an old pilot while being a bold pilot.

I have been thinking about him a lot lately. I just finished watching that new Right Stuff TV series on Disney+, and I thought it was absolutely criminal that they totally left out Chuck Yeager. I had to re-watch the original movie a few days ago.

RIP. First man to fly past sound barrier (~ something like 750 mph). Before the movie came out, the book "The Right Stuff" was an awesome read and highlighted the snub Yeager got being passed over for Mercury / Gemni Astronaut selection team - who got all the glory, tv and book deals.

Chuck and Bob are back together and surely enjoyed a couple of cold one's together last night.
