anyone have strange stories with this stuff? Why do the letters always move? Everything else stays but the letter on the screen dance around making me think I'm crazy. I've slept walked on this stuff and done a lot of weird crap..and will surely do it again tonight. Anyone else sleep walk on this stuff? If my computer isnt here when I wake up, first place to look is the fridge..thats where it gets put when Im on ambien. Normal reaction? I don't know.

somehow i poseted this in fantasy games forum..can anyone switch? I don't want advice from guys who dress up as wizards on a normal day..wait...unless you are only dressed a wizard becuase of the ambie. That is the exception.

Moved to off-topic.

I was on Ambien for a while, and it definitely messed me up. One time I gave my husband the entire grocery list for the next day (which is comical mainly because I don't cook at all), and had no recollection of doing it.

Lunesta is stronger still. When on that, I would look at people's faces and they'd appear to be melting. Weird stuff.

It's really important not to ever take those drugs if you've been drinking at all. That greatly increases the risk of sleep disturbances, the types of things where people go out and drive to buy groceries in their sleep.

My wife use to work for the company that makes this stuff. Sanofi-..... (mergered since she was there). It's crazy stuff and to be honest, I can't believe doctors actually prescribe the stuff. In it's pure form, it's the date rape drug. I'm not a doctor, but if I was, I think it would be safer to prescribe 2 glasses of wine at 8pm and then go immediately to bed.

It was also famous around the company for the way they had to ship it. Because it was a controlled substance, they had to label the packages externally for shipping, but if they labeled the packages for shipping, it magically never made it to the destination.

This. My wife had a friend who had just a couple of beers and took the stuff. He left his house, got in his car, drove around, and got into a pretty bad accident and doesn't recall any of it.

It's insane the types of things people do on it. I don't drink, so I never had a problem with it - but you can tell pretty much the exact second when it hits you. The room kind of gets floaty, your head gets fuzzy. I wonder if that is what getting roofied feels like?

It's exactly what it feels like. I don't think it is actually Rufilin, but my wife has said it gets stolen a lot because Ambien's active ingredient is the "date rape drug"

Using Ambien is the pharmaceutical equivalent of getting ****-faced and passing out.

I'm not saying don't do it, but that's what it is.

Ambien was inconsistent for me... sometimes it worked sometimes not. Made the switch to Lunesta (I cut the 10mg in half usually) and it always works like a champ. Not right away but after an hour or so I'm good for a solid 3-4 hours of sleep, wake up for a bit then get another solid 3-4.

No ill effects, no hangover the next day, and other than the fact I can't take it back-to-back without some rebound insomnia it works as advertised.

But I may start drinking with it since these stories above sound pretty awesome! I used to take acid to see melting faces!

I just rewatch Raiders of the Lost Ark to get my face-melting fix.

Heh...my wife has some wacky hallucinations on Ambien...and she only takes the prescribed dosage. She's seen little men crawling up our curtains, ceiling fans moving in slow motion, walls changing colors, etc. I tried one once and all I did was fall asleep. Not too exciting.

I'm sure it works for some, but I've heard of and witnessed too many cases that lead me to elieve Ambien is not a good drug. I am pretty sure it caused Urban Meyer's health scare. Closer to home, it did not go well for my wife.

She was having a hard time sleeping during pregnancy, and her Dr perscribed Ambien. After a week, I did not recognize her. Her personality changed, she became very irritable and appeared to be sleep walking all day.

I would be cautious if it is perscribed to you, and if it were ever perscribed to me, I would be vehemently opposed.

Scary stuff for those who have gone through this.

Two cases in point:

1. A guy taking Ambien was found by his wife mowing the lawn, in his sleep, at 3:00 am. (more than once

2. A lady on Cymbalta had intense monster hallucinations. Intelligent giant insects out to get her and feelings of impending doom (when awake).

Both of these were right here in DSM area.
