What's everyone think as to who got snubbed/who shouldn't be there?

For the AL, I don't know how Adrian Beltre gets in and Paul Konerko is left out. Beltre is having an average season at best, while Konerko is putting up top 5 hitting numbers in the majors. Also, Pineda for the Mariners deserves to be there, he has been FILTHY this year, while Gio Gonzales has been average for a bottom rung A's team.

As for the NL, Gaby Sanchez surprises me, but that could just be that I don't ever see the Marlins on TV. Carlos Beltran is only in because he plays in New York, while CarGo should be there instead even though he had a slow start, but has picked up last year's form by now.

Gonzales is 7-5 with a 2.38 ERA. That is not average. The W/L record should be more like 9-2 with that ERA (if he were on a better team).

Tommy Hanson and Craig Kimbrel should be in over Ryan Vogelsong. There has to be a better way to choose these teams. Fans and managers aren't getting it done.

Jeter? Really? Need to rename the All-Star Game the Popularity Contest Game, because .260 and 2 HRs is not All-Star worthy.

Voting for the starters has always been a popularity contest. Jeter is far from the first player to coast to multiple All-Star appearances regardless of merit.

Jeter is just coming off of the DL, expected to return tomorrow... So, hopefully he and the team decides the right thing and will opt out (as he really shouldn't be in there regardless)...

Alex Gordon should have been in... he's been the best LF in the AL this year.

Disagree about being selected due to the fact that LF vs. RF doesn't really matter, they play very similar and the only OF selected he's put up better numbers than is Cuddyer who is needed to fulfill the 1 player per team requirement.

Matt Wieters and Russell Martin backup catchers for the AL. Pathetic. Weiters batting .260 and Martin .222.

Prob with Konerko, is that Gonzalez and Cabrera are at same position so he gets left off. He is having a very good 1st half and does deserve to be there, but there is a log-jam at 1B.

Beltre gets in because he is a gold glove calibur 3rd baseman, and his numbers are solid for a 1st place team. BTW, Ron Washington is the AL Manager and has earned the right to select his guy if he has solid numbers.

I hate the Yankees as much as the next guy, but how was CC Sabathia left off the team? He's 11-4 with a 3.05 ERA.

Tommy Hanson left out is BS. Craig Kimbrel is a borderline snub as well. I am betting he'll get added anyway due to some of the pitchers scheduled to pitch a day or two before the ASG.

Great to see Iowa native Joel Hanrahan make it. He's having a great season.
