The Hawks always get their man. Anthony "Getaway" Hubbard announced for Iowa, today. Anyone want to lay bets on the number of Raquel Welch/Rita Hayworth posters he puts up on his dorm room wall?

Just kidding, hawk fans. Just giving back a taste of the crap that's been thrown our way these last few months. I'm sure Hubbard will be a great member of the team....or at the very least he'll teach the rest of the guys how to make shivs out of toothbrushes.

Lol. If he walks into his dorm room and "PIERRE WAS HERE" is carved into a beam on the ceiling, he should just turn right around and walk out.

IMO, this is riskier than ANY of the transfers that Hoiberg has accepted. I hope to hear nothing more from Hawk fans as to how the respective coaches are building their programs.

I can't wait. He's going to help out our team a ton. And I believe in second chances.

Welcome to Iowa Anthony!!!

The amount of hypocrisy and jokes floating around in my head right now is giving me an overload related migraine.

Hubbard is clearly the biggest PR concern. But the kid paid his debts, spent 4 years locked up and decided to go to college after prison (this isn't a Berryman situation where the kid knew he'd be right back in high major ball). Seems like he may have some perspective.

Likewise, the ISU transfers may all have been hunting for some courses their school didn't offer.

Anthony 'Felon' Hubbard chooses Iowa

Kid spent 4 years in jail and has now chosen Iowa over offers from Nebraska and Penn State. Will be interesting to hear the media talk about his remarkable turnaround in life while we will probably be trashed for taking transfers with FAR less issues.

Here comes the story of Hurricane...

(sorry, couldn't resist)

The Iowa/ISU talk could turn hilarious if Hubbard leads the Hawks to a victory over a title contending Clone squad.

Sure. Why not? You guys have to be thinking 20-25 wins now, right?

The Hawks continue to be a disgrace- Fran is taking them to a level past Lick.

Penn State rejected this felon.

How are the hawks being a disgrace by bringing him on? Is it because they are bringing in a player who Penn State decided wasn't a fit for their team? Because if that is your reasoning, turn around and look at half the transfers that the Cyclones brought in. Based on your logic, the Cyclones are a disgrace for bringing in Lucious. He was interested in Marquette and even took a visit there, but they rejected him. Does that make it a disgrace?

I myself focus more on the felon part than the Penn State reject part

Thats clearly not anyones reasoning.

Horrible job attempting to spin it, very lack luster effort on your part.

4 years in prison or kicked off a team. Which is considered worse in the public eye? Don't try to turn this on ISU.

Then what was the point that he was trying to make by saying "Penn State rejected this felon"? Did he just randomly throw a phrase in there?

Ms. Lippy's car is green

He wasn't accepted into the school.
