what is the AFL? :cute:
The American Football League - duh! You know, the league where the Raiders, Jets, and Broncos play...
That's the AFC.
Looks like all systems go... I'll probably wait before buying season tickets. Actually I probably won't buy season tickets but I'll definitely hit a few games.
The Iowa Barnstormers
Bengals and Dolphins were not orginal they came in 69 Shula left the Colts after the 68 choke to the Jets and joined Miami

Learn your football history.
Before Super Bowl 4, there was an AFL that at the minimum consisted of:
East-
Boston Patriots
Buffalo Bills
Houston Oilers
Miami Dolphins
New York Titans/Jets
West-
Cincinnati Bengals
Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs
Denver Broncos
LA/San Diego Chargers
Oakland Raiders
And before they all played a single down in the NFL they all played in the AFL. In fact, the original purpose of the Super Bowl was a showcase between the two leagues.
Sports such as AFL will take a big hit in the dropping economy. Suspect AFL could find no bank to loan them the bucks.
This scenario could play out for farming next spring if the banks are not recapitalized in time. The MSNBC gurus are saying a trillion dollars from the govt only pays back 20% of banking losses from real estate. They also say credit card credit may be pulled back to the tune of $2 trillion in 2009.
Learn your tenses. I'm aware of what the AFL was. It's where the Raiders, Jets, and Broncos played. Also, learn your sarcasm-themed characters.![]()
No, the barnstomers are in the AFL2, which the big wigs at the AFL have nothing to do with...
AFL was a system that I always thought worked in small town markets. Then they made AFL and AF2 or whatever the hell they call it. AFL is going to go down in the tubes and AF2 will survive.
It's like the CBA, the Quad City Thunder was the most profitable team of the league but after Isiah's bankrupting of the CBA they never saw a team again and NBDL set up teams in Large markets that already have sport teams to follow, and is a complete failure.
Basically, what I'm saying, send these alternative sport teams to sports starved markets and they will succeed. Put a hockey team in Des Moines or an MLS team in Des Moines, I guarantee they will do better in attendance than a lot of other teams.
