I have both bought and sold tickets on both Stubhub and Vivid so I understand how they work from both sides.

One thing I've always wondered about however.

I've always been afraid to list the same set of tickets for sale on more than one site at a time.

My concern: What happens if I get indications from both sites that the same set of tickets listed on each site have been requested by a buyer? I obviously can only approved and transfer tickets to one of the buyers. Do you just decline/not accept the other? If so, does that give you a "black mark" against you on that site the next time you try to list tickets for sale (since couldn't deliver the tickets on a past listed set of tickets)?

I think others do use multiple sites as I'm pretty sure I've found instances of the same tickets on more than one site in the past, so this must be doable? Just don't want to cause myself any headaches.

Do not post the same set of tickets on two different sites. I got hosed earlier this year because of it.

essentially as soon as someone buys the ticket, you are obligated to send them. If you no longer have the tickets, they will charge you 40% of asking price, or cost of replacement. No exceptions

There’s small print that details this, but it’s very easy to miss. I refuse to sell on these sites now.

The buyer hasn’t “requested tickets” they’ve bought them. Like the guy said above it’s 40% of the sale price or replacement tickets (only if approved by the buyer) and there’s no avoiding the penalty.

That is very helpful. Thank you! I am just surprised how often I see the same tix listed on both Stubhub and Vivid. I wonder if they are sophisticated enough sellers, that they are setup to immediately go to the other site and take down tix as soon as they get a buyer on the other. Seems like playing with fire though.
