It's different than Ray Rice because there isn't video, but that description from her describes a really bad dude who didn't just make one mistake one. I do think someone will eventually give Russell another chance. He's younger and less replaceable than a guy like Ray Rice.

Not to make light of domestic abuse but the Cubs best lineup hasn't included him for at least the past month or two.

Makes me wonder if the Murphy acquisition was partly the Cubs seeing this coming and knowing they had an MVP candidate who could play shortstop anyway.

No, the Cubs were lucky to even get Murphy. They were literally the last team in the wavier line and no one else put a claim in on him. He's also not any everyday player.

Russell will be gone from the Cubs.

I don't think that had anything to do with the Cubs getting Murphy. That one may end up just getting chalked up to straight luck. I don't think there's anyway anyone knew she was going to be posting that on social media
