MLB: A-Rod & Braun Among 20 Possible Suspensions

MLB is a joke in regards to PED's. They are starting to look more and more like World Cycling...

Edit - PED's (typo)

Are you telling me that Braun might have possibly lied to the public about his high testosterone test in 2012. I don't believe it. Baseball players have never lied about Steroids, HGH, or any banned substance. Ever.

Thanks for beating me to the punch here.
Baseball has always been such an honest sport. This is shocking.

Even Enos Slaughter thinks this cheating crosses the line.

There has to be a way for the Yankees to sue and get out of that contract. He was signed while allegedly using performance enhancers. Aka cheating.

Can't that be grounds to void that horrible deal?

I will be surprised if MLB can make the suspensions stick in this case. MLB and the players union have an agreement where players can be suspended if they flunk drug tests. I'm not sure they can suspend a player because somebody said that they used steroids or somebody said they gave them steroids. Without a positive drug test, I don't know if they can meet the legal proof that the player took the steroids.

With the chatter in recent days from the Yankees front office about A-Rod not living up to his contract, it's obvious that they're laying the groundwork to void his contract. This story is just now coming out to the public, but guaranteed MLB franchises have been aware of it for awhile now. The Yankees were stupid to offer this ridiculous contract to A-Rod to begin with, but A-Rod may have bailed them out of it by his own dumb conduct.

Well, if he gets the third strike then it will be voided because of a lifetime ban. As I believe these suspensions are unpaid. (I could be wrong.)

Baseball just continues to mismanage this. There were some big fish in the 90s and first part of the 2000s they let (IMO, deliberately) slip thru their fingers with little to no recourse - knowing full well they were using illegal substances.

And they now they act like they want to clean it up - but they've let it go so far for so long - it's gonna be ugly.

And that's just one reason I feel baseball has been mismanaged. It's "America's pastime" and all - yet it does need to be managed ans marketed properly to stay that way.

100 games for Braun?

If they got the goods on him, they need to lifetime him.

I seem to recall him making fools out of them. He can join Lance on the "we're going to get around to apologizing, really" tour.
