Besides Drake, I personally think a loss this Tuesday will be our worst loss if we were to lose this game. I don't know how or why the team shouldn't win but the game is on the road and I can definitely see it happen.

I really like the tension building between these two schools in football and basketball but Iowa State has every power to silence them tomorrow. I really really hope we beat them.

Not being ranked probably doesn't matter but I thought it would have been nice to give this group of young men what they deserve - a spot on top 25. However, I have been a Cyclone way too long to realize our top 25 ranking usually doesn't last more than a week especially when we are cracking it at around 20+ ranks.

Anyway, the point of this thread is we need to win this game. It will look bad for us to lose this one on the road. We are no longer a team that can afford to lose to lesser teams in Big 12. We have a very good shot at making some national noise at the tournament. I also think its very possible to place 2nd or 3rd in the regular season.

Let's do it folks. Go Cyclones.

You make the craziest threads.

Losing at Okie State would not be the worst. They best Missouri there. It's a hard place to play and I can't remember the last time we won a game there. Losing at home to UNI would be considered MUCH worse

Rivalry games such as Drake, Iowa and UNI doesn't really show you how good or bad you are generally. It only shows how good or bad you are on or around the day of the game. However, in same league play, its very important to take care of business. I probably should have said in Big 12 play a loss as Okie State would be the worst at this time. Regardless, we need to take care of business tomorrow.

Wouldn't be the worst.. dropping A&M at home would me much worse. Especially after the beating we gave them in College Station. Think positively

Yes, losing to a team that has already beaten Mizzou and almost beat Baylor in their building would certainly be the worst loss of all time. :jimlad: Another classic Clonomaniac thread.

If you look at it from the standpoint of RPI, it would be our worse loss yes. In my eyes, the only loss that would be worse than both UNI and Drake would be Tech.

Or Texas Tech. But we need to silence Okie State. They ruined Missouri's 2nd rank. They better not ruin ours. We must have Royce White play his game tomorrow instead of taking too many 3's. unless of course the basketball ring looks as big as it did at Oklahoma.

Correct. Losing to OSU would be no biggie. Losing to ATM at home would be devastating.

I'm not worried about Royce playing his game, he hasn't seen a 40 minute double team until Saturday. If they double him then fine, I am confident Scotty, Babb, Allen, McGee and co. will hit shots to keep us in it.

Tech would be the worst loss - I 100% agree. Hopefully by then, however, we would be ranked. But losing tomorrow will kill the momentum to make the 4 top seeds at the tournament in any region. Call me crazy but I think we have what it takes to be either 2, 3 or 4 in any of the regions in the bracket. Losing to lesser teams in Big 12 will kill that momentum.

We have won enough road games. We need to win out at home now. Another road win would be icing on the cake.

The needless and stupid meltdown on here if we lose tomorrow is going to be comical.

It's a toss up game, we may not even be favored.

When has White ever taken too many 3's? Unless you mean the team took too many 3's and if that's the case, you do realize they won that game right? Do you have ANYTHING positive to say?

You are crazy. The only way we get a top 4 seed is if we win out. Let's be a little realistic here.

The only positive I will say at this point (which I said already) is that we have every possible power in our team to make national noise at the tournament. I don't think if Cyclone nation realizes this. We could be seeded 3 or 4 very easily if we take care of business over lesser opponents. Big 12 has a huge gap between Kansas-Missouri-IowaState-Baylor of the world and the remaining teams in Big 12. I could easily see the top 4 being seeded as high as 1 thru 5.

I am being realistic. We have every offensive and defensive height/power/bench points/3's (except that we don't have a true PG and Royce can't make FTs) to be seeded really high. We just cant afford to lose to lesser teams any more.
