This is a little corny and I'm not the creative type, but sometimes that Christmas Spirit just hits ya.
I have seen people do these on here before, mine isn't a very good version. Hope some of you enjoy it. GO STATE!
Twas’ the day of Christmas, on top of the world.
All presents were delivered to both boy and girl.
But Santa himself was no longer at home,
He had left for vacation in the land of the Clones.
He sent Rudolph back, pulling the sleigh,
Dropping coal off, in Iowa City along the way.
While a trip to Tempe grew ever more near,
Mr. Claus went to Cy’s to enjoy a beer.
A video of a celebration had brought him to Ames,
From that day forward he watched all of our games.
The Cyclone Nation, his new vacation spot,
Even though the local weather, isn’t that hot.
A present he delivered only one year before,
Had already become part of Cyclone Lore.
A man named Rhoads arrived with a plan,
Much smarter than Gene, and loyal like Dan.
He coached with desire and promised better play,
He knew that the players would like it this way.
A-Rob and Arnaud led the offense again,
And a couple of times Jerome Tiller stepped in.
Smith, Lyle, and Johnson led the defense with fire,
And Wally Burnham proved to be one heck of a hire.
With bowl eligibility, six teams had been beat.
Allowing the Cyclone Nation to enjoy Arizona heat.
You see, many don’t know the real story here,
About the red suit, and sleigh, and tiny reindeer.
He was truly confused, was he Husker or Clone?
For years and years he had never really known.
One day in October, two months before,
The Clones beat the ‘Skers with a 9-7 score.
From that day on, he knew with no doubt,
It was Cardinal and Gold from there on out!
So welcome to our Nation, this jolly fat man,
Thank him for bringing Coach Rhoads if you can.
We’ll see you in Tempe, by car or by flight,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all Happy Insight!
If anyone else has one to share or something to add to it, lay it on me!
