A little birdie told me that Kohler is going to attend Grinnell College and play baseball. All I can say is that I'm a little shocked.

I don't know, but this guy was right about Conor Boffeli switching his commitment to Iowa.

I don't know about his decision being final, but I do know that when Iowa told him that they no longer had a spot for him some felt he lost a little passion for football.

I don't even know what to say if there is any truth in this.

Uh..........not good, that is if he were going to come here. A 6'8 250 pound guy would be nice to work with for 4 or 5 years.

A few weeks ago another poster on here said that Kohler had informed the schools recruiting him that he was not going to be playing FB in college.

He sounded like a good OL recruit, but playing FB in college is not for everybody, and he apparently is very smart and a good baseball player. Gotta do what you want in life, and you have to be completely dedicated to FB to play in the Big 12, so good luck to him.

Is he being tested for drug use? This looks like one of those 'signs' that people always talk about.

Better to be honest with himself and realize that FB isn't for him, now, rather than waste someone else's ride.

Yes, but hearing Grinnell is pretty odd. It's the best undergraduate school academically in Iowa but if he's as smart as advertised he could go Ivy. I know that there are a few Ivy guys in MLB. I don't think there are any Grinnell guys. I could be wrong...

He probably understands that his shot for MLB is very, very small, and is making decisions that will benefit him more than going to a school far, far away. It is tough leaving home as an 18 year old and going half way across the country to school.

He may be extremely intelligent, enough so to get into an Ivy League school, But you'd have to figure that the academic pressures at an Ivy League school are significantly greater than at a school like Grinnell, even with Grinnell being the best academic school in Iowa and him being as intelligent as he is.

Good point...I'm going to forward the last part of this to Harrison Barnes's email
