A Cyclone Legend

Here is one of the greatest players to wear a Cyclone uniform. Not to mention a very special man who befriended this guy, when I was 12, and took time away from reporters to sign an autograph and spend a good 20 minutes asking and answering questions for me...Since that day, when he was a sophomore, til his senior season he would always find the time to find me at the Cyclone Club gatherings at the old Holiday Inn to just ask me how things were going...A Legend!

Dexter was a great talent as the starting back on some of Iowa State's best teams ever. Don't know if anyone has the stats, but the '76 team probably had the most NFL players ever to wear a Cyclone uniform.

Everytime he touched the ball it was electric and you always knew something trully magical would happen at some point during the game. After his last season playing football, I did a challenge for a raquetball court and drew Dexter - it was a thrill to meet and greet him in person after having watched him for so many games. He was humble and friendly and this was one of the great memories of my time at ISU. And yes - he kicked my butt in our racquetball game.
