A couple questions about your team......

1. How many total starters did ISU return this year?

2. From the TT highlights I saw, your TE looks pretty legit. How often does ISU use him and how do they use him?

3. Do you platoon your RBs? I noticed both of your RBs had great games on Saturday.

4. What specific areas of the country does ISU target for recruits?

I'd love to hear answers from anyone who feels inclined to reply.

8 on offense, 4 on defense

2. From the TT highlights I saw, your TE looks pretty legit. How often does ISU use him and how do they use him?

Franklin is the best TE we've had in years, and is by far the most used I have seen in my time as a Cyclone fan. He has TE size, and WR receiving ability.

3. Do you platoon your RBs? I noticed both of your RBs had great games on Saturday.

Not in the first couple games, but recently we have been using 3 RB's all who have differing styles, and all have been effective.

4. What specific areas of the country does ISU target for recruits?

California, Texas, Florida, and the Midwest

I'd love to hear answers from anyone who feels inclined to reply.
 
I'll try my best to answer.

1. I'm not sure of an exact number, but I want to say around 12-13? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Most are on offense.

2. Franklin is a favorite target of Arnaud. Expect to see it thrown to him on crucial downs. For such a large guy, he's got great hands.

3. It seems we're moving toward it. ARob is still easily our main guy, but if Shontrell keeps playing like this, I expect to see him get more carries.

4. I don't know if we have a particular "area", but outside of Iowa, it seems we recruit Texas and Florida pretty hard.

1. On offense, we returned 3 OL, QB, RB and all but 1 WR. On Defense we have essentially an entirely new front 7 from last year and our secondary is basically the same.

2. Colin Franklin is our TE and he is used pretty heavily, he is usually our second option in the progression. and Collin is fast and can usually beat LBs and is very good at finding holes in zones.

3. Not usually, Alexander Robinson is our #1 Back, he tweaked his ankle 2 games ago and we were resting him the second half of the TT game.

4. We recruit Texas and the midwest heavily, we also have quite a few guys from Florida as well, but about half our players are from Iowa

Probably our most consistent option. One of the best players we've had in sometime. He WILL be playing on Sundays. I would say he averages between 5-10 catches/game.

I don't know if we platoon them, but we have 3 competent backs who all see between 8 and 20 carries/game, depending on the situation.. Robinson has a deceptive burst, but is best at reading blocks, and making guys miss. Johnson has the biggest burst, but is still learning to read his blocks. Woody is extremely physical, and a north/south type guy. He usually gets most of his carries in the 2nd half, when we're trying to grind the opposing defense.

4. What specific areas of the country does ISU target for recruits?

Texas and Florida seem to be our biggest areas.

Our quarterback doesn't handle blitzing linebackers from our right side on second down very well- good luck... :yes:

Yep. Hammerschmidt is the *****. Our other one barely plays and has hands of stone, no need to guard him at all, mainly a blocker as he is soooo sloooow.

We have been using 3 backs because we can't find one that is worth a d@mn. You about dont even need to defend the run.

Mostly just right around Ames and Des Moines, but have alot of competition around here.
