I think it is pretty cool that Indycar is doing this. They are also adding a 3 wide start to the race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana later this year. (all restarts at these races will be single file) Three-wide starts added for Pocono, Auto Club

I am really excited for this race. In the open test Thursday at Pocono all 24 cars broke the old track record. I think the Long and wide front straight at Pocono will lead to some good action during the race. Here are the Qual results, (3 cars had trouble in quals so only 21 broke the record) Race will be at 11 CST tomorrow on ABC http://www.imscdn.com/indycar_media/documents/2013-07-06/Pocono INDYCAR 400 Starting Lineup.pdf

I read this, INDY is really trying to spice things up to get ratings. I'm sure the drivers aren't thrilled much like the qualifying heats at Iowa. I actually enjoy Indy racing and like how they have a better mix from ovals and road racing.

Beaux Barfield has definitely tried to spice things up in the series. I like a lot of what he has done and the way he calls races, but the biggest thing the series has going for it right now is the new car. The new car has provided some very good racing the last year and a half on Ovals and Road Courses/ Street Circuits.

No doubt the new car and everyone running the same power plant got rid of some of the politics that makes F1 unbearable. It's good to see INDY getting TV races back they were pretty close to becoming obsolete.

Not everyone uses the same power plant in Indy car it is about a 50 - 50 split between Honda and Chevy. But yes F1 can be very frustrating at times with 12 different Engine / Chassis combo's

Crash into the first turn of the race. That didn't take long but had nothing to do with the 3-wide start. They got down to single file pretty quick.
