Campbell is a lot smarter than Rhoads, he isn't going to the spread. Right now he's working with what he's got.
Rhoads was DOA with his horizontal, compressed-field spread desires. Which is sad given the Oline and rb he inherited. KO, Lamaak, Hicks, Stephens, Haughton, Burris, Bykowski, etc. We had road grading maulers when he got here that he didn't fully utilize, plus a big powerful QB that would have benefited from play action and a good TE. Sigh
Campbell is running a spread offense right now and has as similar philosophy as Herman did/does. Run oriented, spread attack.Campbell is a lot smarter than Rhoads, he isn't going to the spread. Right now he's working with what he's got.

In 2009, iSu ran the ball 58% of the time, 515 attempts for 26th in the countryCampbell is a lot smarter than Rhoads, he isn't going to the spread. Right now he's working with what he's got.

Yep, people forget that KSU scores a lot of points the years they are successful. Only twice, since Snyder came back, have they averaged less that 33 PPG. Only once less than 30 PPG.It seems CMC is trying to build the trenches up to be a strong suit--that's a start.
It doesn't need to be triple option but a strong run game and stout base defense goes a long ways in winning a game. Relying on a passing game with a small lead....well, isn't reliable.
Just because Kansas State doesn't fling it around every 5 seconds doesn't mean it's boring. They were 9-4, 6-3 in conference, and averaged 32 points a game last year. Give me that any day even if it's not 'entertaining'.
I didn't mention the word pass once, or talk about needing more run plays called. Nice try though, you understand it about as well as Rhoads. In 2009, iSu ran the ball 58% of the time, 515 attempts for 26th in the country
In 2010, iSU ran the ball 55% of the time, 455 attempts for 61st in the country
In 2011, iSu ran the ball 53% of the time, 537 attempts for 31st in the country
Tom Herman has always had a run oriented spread philosophy and ran that at iSu. I would have liked to see more run game at the time but it isn't like they didn't run the ball...they did. Rhoads went more pass oriented when he started losing the OL to the NFL, promoted Messingham and had smaller more athletic OL.
No, I understand what you meant. Disagree with what you meant and used statistical data as evidence.I didn't mention the word pass once, or talk about needing more run plays called. Nice try though, you understand it about as well as Rhoads.
At their most prolific stage under him, they ran the ball very well and had big linemen.Oregon with Chip Kelly, that is what our offense will look like in 2 years.
Messingham and had smaller more athletic OL.
