2018 Archery Season

I've only been out once and it was mainly just to check and move a couple cameras. Been pretty slow on the cameras so far. I don't have anything that gets me too excited so I'm banking on a roamer moving in during the rut.

Sunday is going to be a good day to be out. If you're going to make it happen this weekend, Sunday will be your best bet imo. But you can bet I'll be out both Saturday and Sunday night for sure.

Not a bow hunter, but I am taking all next week off for early muzzle loader season. I'm a 5 minute walk to one of two permanent ground blinds we have set up on my uncle's farm ground.

I'm getting ready. Have been checking the cameras and as of yesterday seeing more movement. Due to health reasons had to go to a crossbow this year so have been getting that sighted in. Very impressed with it so far. Fast and extremely accurate.

I just got back from a week antelope rifle hunt and mule deer archery hunt on all public ground . The antelope took us one day to fill the rifle tags , muleys we missed two BIG ones but it was a grind and a learning experience. Saw a FEW but the weather was brutal for 2 of the 5 days. One kid took a doe, and we opted to pass a few 120 inch class bucks.

Havent really got around to getting my stuff up and rolling around here. Have 7 cameras out and a few nice ones on them. Going to try to get out to a stand sunday night if the wind is right otherwise I save most of my sits for November. I find if I hunt too much in October I start to get burnt out when the going gets good.

Good luck everyone

Update: I've been out twice on land that is pretty pressured. Didn't see any deer moving on the land I was hunting but plenty of deer milling around in other fields. Decided to move my stand and will probably hold off for a little bit until next week.
