MLB: *** 2015 ST LOUIS CARDINALS ***

Looks like we will run away with it this year. Time for another ring!!

Nice to be able to watch the Cards on Sunday Night Baseball. Wainwright looking good but the bats could use a spark.

Good win tonight; move to 8-3 and two games up in the division riding a five-game winning streak. Bring on the Nationals.

Y'all are hot right now.

I'm looking forward to this next series. The Nationals pitching staff is just unreal but I think the Cards offense has the edge.

Wouldn't be shocked at all if this is an NLCS matchup.

Heyward has IT but IT hasn't been displayed since 2012. I like the guy but he just hasn't pieced it all together. If he does, he'll be dangerous.

His age is what's going to get him paid. A 26 year old 5 tool player is going to have high demand.

His defense alone should make him quite a bit of money. Basically locks down right field.

If Heyward hits .265 with 15 homers and 75 RBI (in that range, anyway)... you have to wonder about paying him. I suspect they could get that production from Grichuk.

Heyward is going to be fine. We need OF depth with the death of OT. I'm ok with Randal as our first OF off the bench. He's got a ton of promise, but maybe he's not ready. I watched him play a lot last year (AAA included) and the playoffs may have been the best he looked. The playoffs may/may have not been somewhat of a fluke.

OF could be troublesome moving forward if Heyward leaves STL. Holliday is getting older. I'm a Jon Jay fan, but he's had a rough start. Bourjos doesn't seem like an everyday guy. That would leave it to the unproven guys like Grichuk or Piscotty.

Obviously Heyward has had a rough start to the year but he will come out of it.

On the flip side, Matt Carpenter is en fuego and I like it.

I don't think I will ever forgive Mozeliak giving up Freese for him. They both are just ordinary players in the regular season, but Freese is a Reggie Jackson/Robert Horry/Jeter/Joe Montana type of guy in October. The guy has huge balls and could have been a difference maker for us last postseason when our hitting fell apart against Bumgarner. What's Bourjos value to this team? He doesn't have any value...... Unless you include a late inning outfielder. We traded Freese for a 1.5 per game type of guy, gtfoh Johnny!!!!
