NFL: 2015 Minnesota Vikings Thread

I'm not a Vikes fan but they're a good young team. I think they might still be a year away from making a real run at the playoffs but time will tell. It'll be tough to leapfrog Green Bay and Detroit in that division, but the Bears are a punch line.

I think they'll be able to pass up Detroit with Peterson back and Suh gone. But I agree if the Vikes are going to the playoffs, it won't be over Green Bay.

I've been listening to a LOT of PA in the morning so I shouldn't even post on the 2015 Vikes but I will....

Diggs is a steal thus far is sounds like so I'm most excited to see him in the preseason.

The offensive line is not sounding anymore promising. If Harris is starting week 1, we are in trouble. The entire off season and the best Rick came up with was Harris? A shaky line with a 2nd year QB...Brutal.

I'm guessing Waynes will see a lot more playing time later in the season but that Newman pickup in the offseason was big imo. He knows the defense inside and out AND THE Captain is not the answer at CB.

As long a Barr and Smith stay healthy, I love the defense.

Teddy has the play makers around him this year to take the next step and if he can do that, I think the playoffs is a very realistic goal.

I can't wait for the season. I've been talking to my friends (group of Vikings, Bears, Packers, and lions fans) so I hear it all. "Jay Cutler will be most improved player this year"(bears fans) "Lions have a lot of holes to fill" "Packers are still dominant" "vikings are a question mark"

But from what I have been hearing out of OTA and Training camp, we are only on an upward trend.

O-Line was going to be a big question mark, and I think that was known for a while. We really need people to step up there.

Our D (if healthy) should be top-10 in the league this year, the way it all came together last year.

Skill Positions, we have great players for this system in place. Teddy "2 gloves" and Charlie Johnson seemed to be really in-sync towards the end of the season last year, and he is a very big target. Mike Wallace adds that deep threat we did not have at all last year. Diggs is getting Antonio Brown comparisons already. Wright is Wright, he is going to do what he has done the last two years. And Cordarelle is apparently at a lot better spot in his metal toughness, and thinks he can finally have the playbook click for him. Oh and Adrian Peterson.

Our defense is good enough to keep us in almost every game this year, the big question is how will the Line protect 2 Gloves and how he progresses with more weapons around him. Should be a fun year!

I was so grateful when they didn't draft Manziel and nabbed Bridgewater late in the first round.

I'm even more grateful now. I called that one from about 10 miles away.

Yup. I was dreading having to root for Manziel if we'd have picked him up. It would have been similar to Jimmy Mac back in the day.

I'm really curious to see how AD does now that most of the drama has finally subsided. Him being close to what he once was is going to play a big part in Teddy's growth this year.

Matt K. needs to really step it up for the line to be decent. Hopefully having AP back will help hide some issues with the line.

I kind of wanted them to take Manziel in that draft. To be fair, I didn't really foresee Bridgewater falling for them to steal him late like that.

If Bridgewater continues to come along and improve, the Vikes could be a surprise team in the NFC.

I think after the Big Three in the NFC of Seattle/Green Bay/Dallas, it could get really wild to see who else gets playoff spots

So excited for this year. I say that every year but it's especially true for this year. This team is on the rise.

It's so exciting to have the best rookie QB since the Luck/RG3 year.

And a coach who doesn't just sit back in a stupid effing Cover 2 and let the surgeon QBs of today's NFL pick apart the defense before any lineman could possibly create pressure.

And Adrian Peterson back to totally change the looks that Bridgewater gets.

Barr/Rhoads/Griffen/Floyd/Harrison Smith and hopefully Kendricks/Waynes is going to be a nasty defensive core.

The biggest issue on the team is obviously that Kalil is the literally the worst tackle (not just LT) in the entire NFL.

I'm not worried at all about the RG spot, but they are going to have to help Kalil every single passing play.

Hopefully having Fusco over there with him helps him out.

Definitely based on where he was drafted. He had a decent rookie season too...hopefully last year was just a Sophmore slump.

I see a 9-7 season for the Vikes. They'll will have a talented, experienced team in 2-3 years. Pick up some nice OL in the next draft and both the offense and defense will be coming togethor at the same time.
