Depends on what you mean by "get it done".

Go to a bowl game: absolutely.

Win the Big 12 north: possibly.

Anything beyond that: probably not, but who knows.

Isn't the Oct 27th game against K State at Arrowhead Stadium?
 
Yes, this will be the year we make it to the National Championship. Because the world is ending in 2012... So, it WILL be the year we make it, but we will NEVER get to actually play in it because we will all be gone and dead. :jimlad:

I believe playing in KC was only a 2 year deal, it certainly could get extended, but I don't think it has yet.

Too much can happen between now and 2012 to make any sort of realistic predictions. That said, I think we go undefeated in the regular season, but lose the big XII title game to Baylor , end up in the Rose Bowl and beat UTEP for our first ever BCS bowl win.

That would be classic Iowa State. Go undefeated, win the north, win the big12, scheduled to play for a national title and the world freaking ends before the game is played. I will become more and more nervous of the world ending every game we play that year without a loss. It just makes too much sense.

You could take some solace in the fact that because the world is supposed to end on December 21st, 2012, we'd at least get to win the Big 12 championship before it's over.

I think we'll be loving it after 2011 is over.
 
Tulsa will not be a push over if they keep playing like they are. At iowa city we usually dont win. Again remind me of our head to head against Big 12 schools.... not good against really any team. how ever given our current coaching staff should still hopefully be in tact this schedule is very welcoming looking at it today.​
 
IF we keep our jet system running at full speed for 4 full quarters we will be hard to handle, like the couple series we ran a jet system, we looked absolutely amazing! I love this schedule, 2012-2013 could be our years we play for the Big 12 Championship. I would love for us and Nebraska to be at the top for the next couple years, Nebraska getting us a few times would not hurt me, but in 2012 we will get them and represent the North in the Big 12 or whatever it will be by then.
 
by that time, 8/12 of those teams we play will be considered national powers.. what are you guys smoking? :mask:
 
Too far in the future to determine how difficult it will be, but it is definitely possible that we get to a decent bowl game or win the Big 12 North in that season if things are going as we think they will be by then.

Never knew that Western Illinois field a football team. and Western Kentucky? You have got to be kidding me.
 
Here is how I see it. Pinkel leaves to greener pastures soon, and I think Pelini will be discovered as a wife beater. Boone Pickens writes a bad check and that makes that schedule looks pretty good. ISU for the National Title.

I would have included that a bunch of Iowa football players will get arrested too but that doesn't seem to bother the boss's in Iowa City too much and probably won't effect the game.

Seriously - that could be a very memorable season. Maybe Iowa State's first ranking since Seneca.

I am tempted to say that it would be worth the world coming to an end, at least we would go out on top!
 
Dude, that is way to far into the Future.

2.5 years? 30 months from now?

Hell, Rhodes will be long gone from Iowa State after he wins his 2nd Big 12 Title and 1st National Championship.

Like every year, it comes down to beating (Iowa, Kansas, K-State, Colorado, Mizzou, and Nebraska). If you win the Lion Share of those games, you will be sitting good. If not, you are in trouble. Who knows what those (6) teams will be like.

werent we ranked for like a week in the meyer days at some point? idk i was thinkin we were.
