I must admit I was a little nervous when the Colts released Marvin Harrison. I was worried that Anthony Gonzalez wouldn't be able to be much more than a slot receiver. However, both he and Manning appeared to really be in sync last night. If they can keep it going it will force teams to be honest and not double on Wayne every play. Overall, I was fairly impressed by the Colts last evening. Any thoughts?

I didn't get to see the first qtr with all of the starters in - but i was pleasantly surprised by what i saw the rest of the game, and in the highlights I saw.

Most importantly, it's nice to see us using th preseason effectively. Last year with Peyton out, we spun our wheels coming out of the gate, and paid for it. this year with everyone healthy it's shaping up better. which is especially important with everyone feeling a new head coach out. I liked peyton's comments in his 2nd half interview about coach, and how he's getting everyone's best effort, even if they're not exactly sure how to read him or what his head coaching style will be like. The identity of the team will change a little bit this year i'm sure, but I'm less worried now than I was 6 months ago.

I agree about using the preseason effectively. After Manning fumbled in the first quarter I figured he was done. Nope instead he came back out and completed a TD pass to a wide open Wayne (too bad it was Hobbs that got burned). Hopefully, the identity change involves a tougher defense. I think that would be great.

When the offense has been that explosive the d gets on the field a bunch. That being said they have a quick d but not a d that is built for outdoors. I wonder how they are going to use the running backs with Addai and Brown both very capable of being an every down back when healthy

The defense has 5-7 starters that are hurt, so that's going to affect how they appear in the preseason - I wouldn't be too worried if I were a Colts fan. I am concerned about Bob Sanders injury - It seems to get worse every time ESPN talks about it.
