2007 Draft Board

Unfortunately I can't ready the whole article... but that's cool to hear!
Hopefully they are off by about 12 spots and there's a huge deal about whether he goes to the NFL or not so ISU gets tons of publicity, and then he stays for his senior season and ISU wins the fiesta! Yeah, I'm still half asleep, so that may be a half dream. But you never know!

I agree, dbronco! I hope he turns out to be top 5 in the nation at the end of this year, then chooses to stay with ISU for his senior year and helps lead us to some big wins! More positive national exposure, bring it on!

I think he'll stay. He is so dynamic and talented that it would help for the extra publicity. It will also help to go out after a better season. I know people want to assume we win the North this year but I think the following season is our better chance with the way the schedule works out.

[/b][/quote]Considering we lose all of our starting O-line after this year I expect that this will be be Blythe's best individual season and probably his best shot at the draft.

We have a couple palyers returning, but you are right we will need immediate JC help at the line. I see Blythe like I see stinson and wb, they arree way underestimated by the establishment, choosing guys like rondo in bball, and desmond howard in football. Sexy programs make top picks in some cases. However it is the guys like jerry rice, and Blythe, that truely stand the test of time. On my draft board, I cannot think of a better wr in all of football than him next year. He has the tom Waddle qualities(ability to take a hit and still hold on), as well as some acrobatic mossesque skill(one handed at the twenty, piroettes around 3 defenders to score). Dude is a stud and may be the highest draft pick we have ever produced. I really hope, and think, he will stay four, but wouldn't blame him if he plays to his potential and gets a little mouse on his shoulder telling him to pro next year.

Since we lose the o line next year, the following year Blythe might see more action as the qb hurriedly tosses it up in his general area. He is just great about grabbing the ball solidly with two hands. He must have metallic fingers the way he holds onto the ball. Blythe looks like a pro out there now. Too bad he did not have slightly more speed.

I think that he has plenty of speed. He has a decent 40 speed and he plays fast in pads too. There has to be a reason that he is always behind the coverage.

Its not just what he does with the ball that impresses me about him. He will obviously draw double coverage if he strts to heat up and it still wont matter. He wont only make the great plays but he will have the best DBs on teh opposing team guarding him, and with our depth at WR, we will be a nightmare for most if not all defenses. I cant wait till the Iowa game! ;D

I expect better play from Walter Nickel next year since he has hjad a year to fit in. This might help him at his next career. This would take some of the pressure off Todd.

Here's my guess for the 2007 draft:

4th round
D. Jackson

5th round
S. Stephenson

7th round
B. Curvey

Free Agents
A. Flynn
A. Brant
S. Moorehead
W. Nickel
R. Kock
S. Hicks
