I found this advertisement for ISU's 1923 Homecoming today while looking through my great-grandfather's papers. This ad was in the November 11, 1923 Des Moines Register in a special section of the paper commemorating the five year anniversary of the Armistice in WWI (11/11/1918).

My great-grandfather saved this issue. We were looking through his items this morning. He was a WWI vet.

It has a crease in the bottom from where the paper was folded, but still might get it made into a print. Kind of cool.

Merry Christmas!

Score for anyone wondering
Nebraska won, 26-14

Do you think we kicked the extra points, or converted a 2-pt ??

Wow, $2 in 1923 ? That seems really steep, but I did a dollar conversion and it's only equal to about $26 in 2011.

Fascinating that even though it was Iowa State College at this point, they referred to themselves as "Ames."

I'd buy some schwag in Cardinal and Gold that says "Ames" on it.
