Why has it been 15 years or however long it has been since we had a kickoff return? Especially with the returns LJ had last year.....

We haven't had someone with breakaway speed for a while... and when we do they don't get very good blocking. Don't get me wrong, we have had some decent returners (like Leonard Johnson last year), but we haven't had the kind of speed we need.
It's still pretty crazy that we haven't gotten lucky once or twice and been able to break one loose though......

That is exactly what it comes down to, we need some one with blazing speed, which is why I am excited to see Jarvis West join the team next year.
Walden should have been coaching, but was serving a league suspension for criticizing officials. Chuck Banker was the acting coach.
Luther Blue had a huge TD return in '77 that led to a win against Nebraska at Trice.
