I've seen this discussion on Reddit, and now it's being noted by CNN. I have a feeling this may be the next .gif (Jif vs Gif pronunciation) argument of our time!!

Do you personally put 1 space or 2 spaces after a period before beginning the next sentence? (See Poll!)

As a typing master who learned typing on a computer but took tests on a typewriter, I am and will always be a 2 space advocate. What say you all!!!

Learned 2, transitioned to 1 once some old person teacher stopped requiring 2.

One space always, nowadays.

Unless you have to write a paper with a length requirement for school.....

Double tap and make all periods and commas a couple sizes bigger. Gets to the end of a required one page paper in school. At least that’s what I heard.

I do 2 spaces. I didn't know people only did one until a gal I worked with a couple years ago made fun of me for it like I was some neanderthal or something haha. I think I learned to do two spaces because when I learned how to use the computer in early elementary school, the computer lab teacher was like 75.

....huh. This is awkward. Apparently I only do one space when I use mobile.

I am a two spacer and I belatedly learned I had to turn in a completed 20+ page article that required single spaces. Someone told me to do a “find and replace all” with two spaces being replaced by one. In an instant, it fixed it. Saved a lot of time!

I know 1 space is acceptable these days, but 2 spaces is so ingrained in my head it's habitual to double tap the space after a period.

If it's an 8th grade research paper, 2 spaces.

If it's something you're writing as a grown up and don't want to be laughed at behind your back by colleagues, 1 space.
