    Can you argue they did with the amount of turnovers, open shots, rebounds given up on both ends? I would argue a pretty good team by your definition would be more competitive in those areas but I guess anything but pollyanna is a scarlet letter.

    Anyone disconcerted that they seemed to be gashed badly with at least one to two big plays every game since Iowa? This defense appears to not be as good as years past it seems.

    Probably has had offers but a lot more long term security inside Ft. Kinnick and many years of 1+ million dollar pay checks go a lot further in Iowa City than a few years of 2/2.5 in LA or other downtrodden NFL markets.

    Hot take here. The reason there was no weeping and teeth gnashing is that Purdy had impactful skill players around him along with a semi-competent offensive line to allow him to cook. This team has none of those things. Also, probably helped that the team was winning in mostly an impressive...

    Away game roll call

    Been to Lubbock for the last 3/4 games at Jones AT&T and their fans are fine. The scene in Lubbock is pretty on par with Stillwater or Manhattan.

    "It's good for the state!"

    This good for the state line is so tired and not true at all. If it were, wouldn’t Iowa’s run in the 80s and 90s lead to at least one bowl season between 1979-2000? Or flip side, wouldn’t the Iowa men’s team make the second weekend once in the 2000s?
