I noticed that as well and on a lot of his shots he seems to be moving forward instead of going straight up on his shot which leads to inconsistency. Hopefully, that will improve over the summer.

    Iowa State Transfer/Recruiting Class 2023

Omaha was apparently the best on-ball defender at McDonalds, even on smaller quick guards. Looks like he can create his own shot, something we were lacking big time last season.

I think they said he's ONE OF the best defenders. Either way, he'll fit in well.

    Omaha Biliew is a McDonald's All-American

It was encouraging to see him his a 3 but I was most impressed with his defense on smaller players away from the basket. He really has quick feet and with his length, he is going to be a big asset in ISU's defense.

    Let’s talk point guards

Great comment, should be made into a movie!! Oh, wait, they already made "Clueless" a few years ago.

Him playing in the NBA for so long with and against so many players pretty much gives him the experience to voice those conclusions.

Who ever the is person in charge of working with the offense should be fired on the spot

Both Lipsey and Watson need to work on their outside shot. Held Pitt to under 60 so defense wasn't the issue. The team's slide seems to coincide with Grill hurting his back. The loss of just one additional scorer was the margin of loss in a lot of close games. The loss of Grill's defense didn't...

    Bracket Discussion

I'm the same way. Went to ISU for undergrad. and Drake for grad. school. I cheer for both unless we're playing Drake.

    Prove them wrong... again

What I saw in the Baylor game was less swiping at the ball, which leads to fouls being called, and more moving their feet to get good defensive position. Defense is about moving your feet more than having quick hands.

    Aljaz Kunc Appreciation Thread

I think we would have won some of the close games we lost if he hadn’t gotten hurt and would at least be tied for first. Let’s see how we do on the road with him going forward.

    TJ’s Weaknesses Exposed Tonight

What I see in the last two games is more athletic teams playing defense that our lack of athleticism can’t overcome. Not just when pressing full court but in half court defense as well. We’re not quick enough or good enough ball handlers to penetrate and just end up passing the ball around the...

Updated: Milan Momcilovic commits to ISU

I think he was probably referring to Niang when he came out of high school. He is certainly more athletic in terms of quickness/speed and has longer arms. But as far as "skilled," both seem to have similar skill sets.
