Fox and Big 12 Working on Deal

The money UT and/or OU earn from their own networks is in addition to the $20m those schools were promised by the Big 12 per the way it was explained last summer.

    Iowa Western Community College

Even though Osborne helped Iowa Western get their program off the ground, Nebraska appears to have a much stronger relationship with Fort Scott in Kansas.

    Dan Beebe teleconference at 8

Say what you want about Nebraska, but they were a national program that brought value to the conference in terms of TV right fees. It is a little difficult to see how the Big 12 generates such a substaintial increase in their TV money with one less national program and no conference title game...

    Big 12 Major Announcment

Nebraska receives more revenue than CU does for starters and they also didn't want CU staying around for another year.

In this case they are right, Nebraska essentially won.

    Big 12 Major Announcment

That dollar figure that Nebraska is paying appears much smaller than the numbers that were being thrown around.

Big XII likely to have 10 teams in 2011

Neither CU or NU will end up paying and/or having revenue withheld to near the dollar figures that keep getting thrown around, it is all posturing for the negotiations that are taking place. Just as Nebraska saying they aren't paying and CU saying they are staying until 2012 is all part of the...

    Robert Standard

Nebraska apparently has backed away from heavily pursuing Standard.

I'd Like to see ISU to go 3-4 Defense

Given one of ISU's biggest struggles regardless of coaching staff has been recruiting quality defensive linemen, going to a 3-4 full-time would be a bad idea. ISU just isn't in position to have success recruiting with the big boys for defensive line talent, thus they generally take kids that...

    This about sums it up.....

There is little doubt if Iowa State was offered the opportunity to join the Big 10 they would take it and not even think twice about it.

    Big 10 Expansion Notes

The biggest academic factor with regard to Big 10 expansion has been AAU membership and other than Notre Dame all of the schools prominently mentioned are members.

Two noteworthy hiccups tonight in Pac 10/Neb and MU

If Nebraska gets an invitation to the Big 10 they will go. It is more than just Osborne's call and their Chancellor wants the academic side that comes with Big 10 membership as well, even if more perceived than real.

Two noteworthy hiccups tonight in Pac 10/Neb and MU

You think Osborne will suddenly forget that all of the northern schools have pretty much voted with Texas and against Nebraska on all items outside of revenue sharing since the Big 12 was formed and now want to try to save them? I suspect that is the last thing on his mind as he is in the...

    ISU preview (cough, from huskers)

Triple option actually means the option to give to the dive-back or fullback, pitch to the running back or have the quarterback keep it.

    ISU preview (cough, from huskers)

Nebraska never actually ran a "triple option offense", they had a run-based offense that incorporated some option but they were never what you see from Paul Johnson or the service academies. I would guess that Nebraska will never return to the offense they ran under Osborne as kids want to play...

    Bo Williams Challenge

If Bo Williams transferred from Central Florida rather than Florida would everyone be as obsessed with him? Florida is very talented, but one would hope that the 5th RB on UF's roster would at least have to work a bit before he was anointed at ISU. Also don’t think it can be dismissed that...

    Football practice

Officially no in terms of on-field work. Can work with them in the meeting room. While it isn't officially practice, the on-field work in terms of 7on7 and drills really goes on year round though and the coaching staff is well aware of what is taking place, who is making progress and who isn't.
