    Mouser the new OC

Taking Rocco off the field to institute a power QB run game makes zero sense whatsoever.

That would be stupid. Outrageously so. This isn’t Joel Lanning, who had a strong arm, but was a marginal passer. This team has both talented passers AND wideouts.

I’d suppose that people would expect Collin Klein’s offenses to be that way, for the same reason. Does it work that way? (I have no idea, that’s why I’m asking)

This. After the turnover this year and last, the offensive staff needs some stability and continuity for a couple of years, especially for recruiting purposes. After we start averaging 500 ypg and 45 ppg, teams can start poaching one. One coach a year is allowed.

Where Iowa State might turn to find an offensive coordinator replacement

I’m pretty sure that the Equal Opportunity hiring period is still in effect even when one head coach or another is absolutely determined to hire his firstborn. Totally random comment, really.

MLB: ***Official 2024 St. Louis Cardinals Thread***

I have been looking at MLB’s top draft prospect list. Considering three guys in the top ten are college guys who probably fit best at 1B (not counting White, who looks more like a DH$), and that a HS kid (PJ Morlando) isn’t too far off, I was thinking that if the right pitcher isn’t here at #7...

Where Iowa State might turn to find an offensive coordinator replacement

After one season, playing completely with his predecessor’s recruits, I’m not going to make noise when someone else says they think he is, either.

Where Iowa State might turn to find an offensive coordinator replacement

When I heard that Waters was supposed to be filling the open RB spot, I couldn’t help but think that CMC would have preferred Coach Nate wait another year or two—to shuffle the interior candidates around having a bit more experience, and give Kyle an opening, too. Well, if it works now, it works.

The article was incorrect. One year. https://unipanthers.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/ryan-clanton/1016

Are you sure? Or is he cheerfully riding out the last year of a contract no one is going to match?

He was listed as AN offensive coordinator, and reportedly did not call plays.

Where Iowa State might turn to find an offensive coordinator replacement

I’m not sure why it would be. There’s nothing that says that these are the only candidates. These are just the ones where it’s easiest to connect the dots. And I kinda feel like a couple of them aren’t even going to be serious candidates. Besides. CMC knows a lot is riding on this season.

Candle had an 11 game win streak last season, finished 11-3 (last two losses postseason) and was named in connection with some bigger jobs. Not sure what he has coming back, but guessing he won’t step down to an OC job.
