I never call out the refs

As has been stated by others, one of the worst (one-sided) officiated games I can remember watching. A real credit to ISU to overcome the early turnovers, numerous poor calls (or missed calls) and pull this game out. The Jantz kid is unflappable. Most qb's start who start out the game the way...

Walking around the UNI campus today..

I beg to differ. The majority of kids I see on campus wearing college colors have Panther gear on. I work on campus and am amazed at the shift from when I was a student at UNI in the early 1990's. At that time, your statement was closer to the truth. Football's run to the NC game in '05...

    Now that is passion!!

That's the best locker room speech I've ever heard. Classic case of less is more. Coach Rhoads didn't need to say much, but what he said was profound and his players love him for it. Awesome day for the Cyclones...congrats!

    12/19/2008 Official Coaching Search Thread

Has there been any mention of Frank Solich? Pretty solid guy who I think would stay at ISU for the duration. Additionally, he's had a few years now to make recruiting inroads in Ohio, which is rich with FB talent. Ohio struggled a bit this year, but I think Solich-ISU would be a good fit...

    ISU Football Commercial

Damn, that's one sweet commercial! I wish the Panthers would do something like that along the lines of Gladiator or 300. Well done.:notworthy:

    Our APR rating

cybsball- Was the photo in your signature the farewell from the players to the fans? I hope ISU is able to bring baseball back and would just hate to see us drop it a UNI. Something very un-American about dropping baseball. Any word in the ISU camp about bringing it back?

those who always rip 'smalltown iowa kids'

P.S. Off topic here, but good luck against the Red Raiders tommorrow. Their coach has little to no class and would run up the score on a Pop Warner team if given the opportunity. Hopefully, the Cyclones will eliminate the costly turnovers (obvious statement, but they've just been killer...

those who always rip 'smalltown iowa kids'

Agreed, Drive4Cy. I'd add that often times the work ethic and leadership that small town Iowa kids possess is imparted on their teamates, regardless of where they're from. Eric Sanders teamates will follow him to the moon, whether they're from Tampa, Chicago, or elsewhere.

    Paper Tiger, Part II

Yes, the cat's out of the bag. The third paper tiger is Texas. At last glance, they're trailing KSU 7-0. Hang in there, Clones. Within striking distance to start the 2nd half!

    Paper Tiger, Part II

Hello from Pantherland, Cyclone fans. Once again, it is time to call out a paper tiger. First, it was the Hawkeyes, now it's on to a once proud program in the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I've been wrong more than I care to remember, but I wasn't wrong on my assessment of the Hawkeyes and...

    From a UNI Panther

Thanks for noticing! The Hawks 2-0 start was very misleading. That shouldn't take anything away from what the Cyclones accomplished today, however. It was beautiful to see!!

    From a UNI Panther

Frontrange, yes that's basically correct. We are D-I in football also, but as others have mentioned, we're in the FCS subdivision (ridiculous and wordy, in my opinion). It's easier under the former moniker I-A (Iowa State) and I-AA (UNI). Teams in UNI's division have 20+ fewer scholarships...

    From a UNI Panther

Cyclone fans, I sincerely hope ISU takes down the Hawkeyes tommorrow. Never have I seen such an arrogant group of fans than those of the Hawkeyes. What makes it so funny is that they have nothing to be arrogant about (6-7 last season!!) Thus far the Hawks are paper tigers and if the...
