    I was coaching high school basketball at the time. You could hear the buzz in the crowd during our game. Then a loud cheer from the crowd when it was over. Had no idea who won until our game was over.

    A punt is a scrimmage kick and is a LIVE ball. The clock is running during a scrimmage kick. You’re confusing this with a free kick which is a kickoff.

    We are planning it all ourselves because we plan to stay for about 2 weeks. The packages basically are there for the time of the tournament only.

    Went to Louisville when we lost to UAB. Worst atmosphere ever been a part of. 20,000 seat arena with no more than 8,000 there. Kentucky had the next game and thus, had bought up all the tickets. Obviously had no desire to show up for our game. It was really disappointing.

    Took a golf class from Joan Gerhart (women’s golf coach) back in 1975. Homewood was the course we played. Fun course and at that time, we played it for next to nothing as a student.

    Totally agree! I’m 66 and life has flown by. But now I’m sitting at a pool in South Florida for 6 weeks waiting for winter to get over in Iowa. So there’s that to look forward to!

    Don’t pay much attention to anything Iowa, but had no idea Fran was 63. Thought he was much younger (considering age of his kids).

    I’m 65 and remember it well. Yes, it was a holiday tournament over Christmas if I remember correctly. Use to listen to it on the radio.

    My wife and I are also going to be in Arizona first 2 weeks of February. Have Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Waste Management Open on our to do list. Make sure to have Cyclone gear on in case we run into fellow Cyclone travelers!

    Linderbaum donation

    This is very cool. I student taught in Solon back in 1978-79. I also helped coach the high school basketball team. One of the coaches I worked with was Jerry Linderbaum, who was Tyler’s Grandpa (passed away about 10 years ago). Really awesome family!
