Voices from Memphis: 2017 Bowl Edition

We had four home games over 40k this year, with 46k for the UCLA game. We are reporting butts in seats vs tickets sold since the city reports attendance this year. We have about 22k season tickets sold. For SEC games attendance normally breaks 50k, and we will sometimes break 50k for...

Voices from Memphis: 2017 Bowl Edition

We have a different video board layout for Memphis games, not sure why the LB chose the layout they did. Pic at the top of the article here. http://thesouthern.com/sports/college/salukimania/autozone-liberty-bowl-the-nation-s-th-oldest-bowl-game/article_2e513d20-11f6-59e5-816c-aa94179bfda3.html

Walking at night off of Beale St

There is a square of downtown Memphis that is considered the tourist district. It has it's own police station, tons of police coverage, and it very safe. It goes from the FedexForum to Autozone park and then to the river. You don't want to wander south of there except for the south main arts...

Voices from Memphis: 2017 Bowl Edition

The rendezvous is a must try once for the atmosphere, but I find the food hit or miss. There are a lot of great options, but most of them aren't downtown within walking distance of beale.

Voices from Memphis: 2017 Bowl Edition

FedEx has some of the best pilots in the world. FedEx widebody captain is a top tier aviation job. Turns around a point like they flew are "learning to fly 101". When flying with the autopilot / flight director it normally uses about 15 degree turns, and 25 - 28 degree in a race track hold. I...

Voices from Memphis: 2017 Bowl Edition

Our normal large board layout includes offensive stats, not sure why the LB committee chose the layout they did other than advertising. The liberty bowl concourses are too small when it is full, but otherwise the stadium is fine. Good sight lines, a lot of chair backs, good local concession...

    Tiger Lane Tailgating Spots

You aren't allowed to use multiple spaces to set up. Plenty of people in other lots set up an EZ up behind their car and tailgate. Just use common sense, wait until the row you are parked on is fairly well populated so you aren't blocking traffic. Don't leave your tents set up if you aren't on...

***Memphis Travel - Hotels and Things to Do***

Should be fine. Easy Uber back from beale st. You could walk it during the day, but I would probably uber back at night. If you walk down to beale go down main, once you get past the government buildings it's a pedestrian mall with restaurants.

***Memphis Travel - Hotels and Things to Do***

It is brand new and very nice. The only problem is that the area around it while it is on the rise is a little rough. There isn't going to be a ton of places to eat and things to do around the hotel. A lot of people who work in that area drive a few minutes south into Mississippi (Southaven) to...

    Tailgate situation?

Tiger Lane ( the green section on the parking map) is the main tailgating area. You will have to have spots reserved there in advance to turn in the tiger lane gates. Each spot has electrical and a 10' x 10' grass area for an easy up. The Liberty Bowl is also pre-selling passes for the blue...
