Who does the HAWKS most resemble in the Big 12?

Excluding 2015, Iowa's 4 previous 10 win seasons (2002, 2003, 2004, 2009) had a SOS of 37, 10, 12, and 32 respectively, which included bowl wins in the final 3. Barring the one BCS Championship and the other appearance, I'd call that a pretty fair comparison. And no sane Iowa fan has...

Who does the HAWKS most resemble in the Big 12?

I'm not arguing that it wasn't a crappy thing to do by Iowa, because it was, but it doesn't even compare to the travesties that were Penn State and Baylor.

Who does the HAWKS most resemble in the Big 12?

Probably bait, but did you even understand that article? Everson was suspended from the team days after the assault, and was testified against by his teammates. One incident where the coaches actually did their job does not even come close to what's going on in Waco.

Who does the HAWKS most resemble in the Big 12?

Neither were we, 2011 was as average to below average as we've been in a long time, except for 2012 of course. And while I won't say the game was ever in doubt, it was a little bit closer than the score indicates due to a fantastic final performance by Norm Parker.

College QBs in Iowa. Lanning, Beathard or?

Bingo. We can talk crap all we want about schedules and conferences, but it doesn't mean a thing to the actual game.

You could make the same argument about Big 12 offenses.

Kinda misunderstood your meaning there. My bad.

    Iowa vs Iowa State 2015

Yup. Raider package isn't meant to confuse the QB on coverage alone. We use it when we need to corral a QB who is a threat to run the ball and confuse the offensive line so they don't know who's coming until the snap. Its main goal is pressure on the QB, which I'd argue it meets a significant...

    Iowa vs Iowa State 2015

Extremely shallow is stretching it a little bit. Hesse played as well as a redshirt freshman could last year after Ott got hurt, and Matt Nelson's length and pure size alone help him as a pass rusher. If either of those two get hurt though, our pass rush could drop off significantly like it did...

    Iowa vs Iowa State 2015

I would say the same thing. Not knocking on Lanning, but from what I've seen he's better as a runner, and not as much as a dropback QB. It helps having Lazard to throw to, but he's just one man.

    Iowa vs Iowa State 2015

Ott was hurt early in last year's game, and his replacement Parker Hesse played decently well the rest of the game and should have a starting role this season. I'd agree that we'll be a little weak at WR, but honestly it's been that way since 2011 for us.

Exactly. Playing it with sports fandom is just disgusting.
