    I think the best scenario would be for FSU to get their guys motivated, beat Georgia, and then hope that Alabama or Texas win the playoff. Then you've got a lot of narrative to grandstand about how your the only unbeaten team left standing. Pull a UCF and announce yourself the national champs.

    I think media ends up as part of it. If schools commit to the upper league they need the revenue to do it. That's gonna come from the media landscape. I wouldn't be shocked if there weren't back room conversations to determine which schools would really fit in the top tier.

    Exactly, this whole game has been getting the valuable teams into one conference so they don't have to pay the other teams. They took Texas & OU because they couldn't make the numbers work to pay all of the Big12 for access just to those two schools. So they moved them to the SEC. Same thing...

    On the NBA, in addition to Curry, I think you kind of have to throw James Harden in there. He certainly popularized the hunting for fouls game which resulted in some recent rule changes. The first time he jumped into a defender on a three pointer and didn't get the call was a thing of beauty.
