    Pac-12 is a huge stickler for academics. ISU/Iowa as an “alliance” game will have some appeal to the Pac12. Ku/ISU for the AAU component makes sense.

    FPI is usually right more times than it’s wrong, but it’s also not right all the time. FPI is a good indicator, but certainly not the end all be all. When you combine FPI with point spreads put out by Vegas, you get a pretty decent forecast for a game outcome.

    I think this is a really good point. I have seen the valuation number start out as -75% with OuT leaving. Then -50%. Now we are seeing more like -33%. -33% is getting close to PAC12 average per team payout then. This would change the script in that certain schools would indeed add value to...

    I do keep coming back to this. Baylor and TCU are not great research institutions. They are good schools, but poor research. That matters to the PAC and B1G.

    I grew up in Ames. Went to ISU for a decade. ISU fans can be realistic just as much as optimistic.
