    Prohm's in the Bigs now...

Went to the M&W BB coming out party last Friday. #1 son there had been 8,000 at last year's event. It looked like there were about that many again this year. Out of curiosity I checked the capacity of Murray State's gym. Officially it's 8,602. The record is 8,800 something, during the Prohm...

Now do we have permission from the Hoks to go ahead with the SEZ?

After the announcement of the 'concrete' plans for the SEZ project, lots of our Hok friends willingly and sincerely told us how big a mistake it was for us. Now that the Cyclones have once again shown at least our equality, if not superiority, is it ok with them that we continue?

    Committed?

With all the de-commits, both for and against us this year, somebody needs to come up with a better term to describe the 'verbal acceptance of a scholarship offer.' Committed just doesn't reflect the flexibility that athletes seem to want in this day and age.

How we gonna make them pay?

Seeing as how football coaches follow success, and seeing as how UT had tons of success blitzing the heck out of us, I expect KU and WVU to do the same. How do we respond and get the defenses back on their heels?

    14 Teams?

I guess the stupid side of my brain is blocking the not so stupid side. How would conference scheduling work with 14 teams? I assume two 7 team divisions. Obviously, you'd play the other six in your division every year, but what about the cross-divisional play? It looks to me like you'd have...

    TV Revenue Sharing?

In the weeks preceding the final put down of the recent almost-insurrection, it was widely and loudly rumored that UT was willing to vote to evenly share the Tier 1 and 2 revenue. For awhile, it was even bandied about that they would share 50% of their tier 3 LHN revenue. Is any of this...

    uofi condescension

Now that the Hoks have won a couple of games after the ISU game, the true colors are beginning to show. Listening to the post game round table discussion after the Hoks game with that national power LA-MONROE, not to be confused with the PCM Mustangs, the common theme bubbling to the surface was...

Why the SEC needs another team

I've wondered from the start how adding just one member to a 12 team conference would work. This source clarifies that problem. Also makes me increasingly nervous that Missouri might be looking awfully good to the SEC, and vice versa, as the circular firing squad that has tragically become the...

Is there an on-line Media Guide?

I miss the football media guide that used to come out before the season started. Not only did it have all the usual records and seasonal stats of rushing, passing, interceptions, tackles, etc., etc., but really trivial stuff like the attendance for each game for the last gazillion years. I...

How many jump ship if the Big Change happens?

Perhaps this has been addressed elsewhere. How many Iowa State fans stop being Iowa State fans if or when NU and U of M enter the Big Pick Your Favorite Number conference? If the worst happens and we end up in a Mountain West type conference, how many bail rather than see us play Colorado...

    OSU-OU free throws

Did I read the box score correctly that OSU only shot 10 free throws the entire game against OU? Riley was 6 for 8. How did they stop her from jumping into them?

Why only 5 in Big XII with wrestling?

I know that wrestling has been dropped at many schools for lack of funds or to get closer to Title IX compliance. I can even barely recall when the old Big 8 started losing wrestling programs. My real question is, since I've always associated wrestling with football (strength, agility, etc.)...

    2 Deeps On-line?

Is there a website that displays the current 2-deep roster for the Cyclones?

Is the media guide info available on line?

Iowa State, in an economy measure, has ceased annual publication of it's football media guide. I was wondering if the amazing amount of info contained in it, is available on-line? Would be good for answering questions and winning bar bets.

    Off the dribble

Watching NCAA tournement games it's painfully obvious where our MBB shortcoming is: we don't have the talent to break down a defense man on man, outside of CB, of course. Do we have any hope of guard play that can create offense by penetrating, shooting, or kicking back out to an open jump...

    Does anyone know who's walking-on?

Another thread was discussing recruiting players from Iowa and the walk-on program was mentioned. Does anyone know who will be walking-on to the ISU football program? Do they still have something called the "preferred walk-on" title?

Big 11 Network on Direct TV

Call me bad, I don't follow the Bigteleven that closely, but noticed that it wasn't on Direct TV channel 220 anymore. Did they move it? If it's carrying the ISU-ui game, this is important to me.

    Some help with "decommits", please

I'm a little fuzzy on this decommit thing. I understand from some of the posts that Coach Chiz pulls a scholarship offer from a recruit who verbally commits to ISU, then visits another school. Is there any way of telling what caused the break-up, the recruit having second thoughts about ISU...

    Worst football broadcast ever?

Was anyone able to make sense of Dolph's game calling yesterday? Western Michigan would throw a pass, there would be a pause as Dolph's brain apparently wrestled with situation, then a nonchalant announcement that the pass was complete. Finally, he'd come out with the admission that it had...
