    How bad is Kansas?

I really want to know what people think a comparative team is. I was thinking the 2012 Western Illinois team that we beat 37-3 at Jack Trice and were leading 21-0 at half. Thoughts?

ISU's Harris finalist for UAB job

Looks like Pollard's number 2 is a finalist for the job at UAB. Guess it's a positive thing when there are people in the athletic department who have a chance to move up at other programs. http://amestrib.com/sports/report-isu-s-harris-finalist-uab-ad-job

    Mangino Q&A

Looks like Mangino thought it was a good spring. He still seems skeptical about the o-line, which sadly is the one unit that needs huge strides on offense. Also good to hear about Cole Anderson. I have a feeling he'll be getting about half the tight end snaps by October. Also, Mangino called...

Mangino one of top five new OCs.

Here's the link from football scoop. Pretty much says what most of us already know. Although I'm not sure I agree that he hasn't impacted our record. Do people think we would have won both Iowa and Toledo with Mess calling plays...

    Defense

Just wanted to say I thought the defense played pretty well today. Wally came out with a pretty good game plan and fourteen of Oklahoma State's points were pretty much on the special teams and/or refs. Still too many missed tackles and some coverage issues a couple times though. This group...

If you want CPR gone, who do you want to be hired to replace him?

Since there is a thread titled "CPR has to go" and multiple posters disgruntled with him, I was curious if those who want him gone at the end of the season would say who they would like to be hired to replace him?

So, let's say CPR is done, who's interim?

I don't think there's any chance CPR will be fired or step down this early in the season. But I honestly want to know who you guys all think should be interim if Rhoads were let go during the season? I'm sure a lot of you will say Mangino, but his offense sure wasn't anything too impressive today.

Big 12 coaches describe team in one word

Thought this was kind of interesting. Rhoads called his team "hungry." Also interesting is Charlie Weis, Bob Stoops, and Charlie Strong can't count to one. http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/88131/big-12-coaches-describe-team-in-one-word

    Mangino Q&A

Bobby La Gesse did a question and answer with Mangino. Sounds like he's pretty happy with how things went in the spring. Edit: Forgot the link. http://amestrib.com/blind-side-blitz/oc-mark-mangino-spring-practice-recap-qa

Looks like White and Madison moved to Defensive End

I didn't remember a thread on this so I thought I'd start one. Looks like both Darius White and Justin Madison are now defensive ends on the roster. I thought Madison looked like more of a defensive end based on his high school highlights, but right now he's only listed at 212. Darius White is...

    Projected Starters from Trey Scott

The projected starters are at the bottom of the page, and I personally found his choices for each one interesting. He also lists Iowa State's listed the top 10 in order of how current players would be taken in an NFL draft. Scout.com: In the Rearview: Season in Review

Another potential OC hire- Nick Quartaro

He was Mangino's OC at Kansas from 2002-2006, and after that took some time off from football. Now he's a position coach with McCarney at North Texas, and was our receivers coach from 1998-2001. This would be a diamond in the rough hire, and I'm sure would be disappointing to some, but he has...

India's Ambassador to the U.S. said Rhoads got it right

India's Ambassador to the U.S. Nirupama Rao spoke at Iowa State tonight. After her speech she sympathized with Cyclone Nation. She said that Paul Rhoads got it right with what he said about the officiating on Thursday. Just thought I'd share that with all of you.

Who's up in the press box?

There has been some debate about and questions about this. Rhoads was just asked the same question on the call-in show and he said that Troy Douglas, Curtis Bray, Courtney Messingham, and Bill Bleil are all up in the press box. Two graduate assistants are also in the press box. Derek Day for...

How has each MBB coach left Iowa State

Hoiberg being offered by Minnesota got me thinking, how often has an Iowa State head coach actually left the program after success for a different college program. From what I have so far it's a lot different than the football list would be where multiple coaches have left for greener pastures...
