    Just to clear something up, these suits are declaratory judgment suits. The count is going to rule on validity of the contract provisions. They won’t be ordering anyone to pay anything. FSU has not withdrawn from the ACC. I don’t see any resolution until 2026 at the earliest.

    Because that long term deal has great compensation and you might not pan out. It’s the same reason professional athletes choose long term deals.

    That’s not true. You need anticompetitive conduct under the Sherman Act. The fact of a monopoly alone is not a sufficient claim.

    Best solution IMo is for schools to go to a contract model which locks in athlete benefits and athlete commitments for multiple years.

    I would slow down a bit. This just means the league can’t meet until the judge considers wsu/osu’s claims. It doesn’t mean they won on their claims.
