PREDICTIONS: Iowa State at No. 8 Texas Tech

Bump. The magic number was 10. ISU had less than 10 turnovers (9) and gave up less than 10 offensive rebounds to Texas Tech (9).

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

I do not think we will ever see 2 post play together while ISU leading in a game. We probably will see it when we are behind and cannot end a defensive possession with a rebound or are having difficult guarding a 2 post lineup. Either way playing 2 posts to me indicates that we are conceding...

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

This is not our best lineup. If you are basing this off some of the individual metrics I shared in the post, you are putting too much faith in them. If this ^lineup is based on your own intuition then I cannot help you.

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

I do not want to see 2 posts playing together as it does not give ISU the best chance to win. We do need our guards and wings to rebound better, however.

PREDICTIONS: Iowa State at No. 8 Texas Tech

The magic number is 10. If ISU limits TTech to under 10 offensive rebounds and forces them to 10+ turnovers, ISU wins. If so, I am calling it ISU 67-TTech 63.

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

I challenge some of your perceptions. First, Jacobson has been in a bit of rough patch regarding 3pt shooting, but I think he still needs to attempt 2 or 3 per game. They will fall. While Jacobson does not rebound outside his area, he is best positional rebounder on the team especially now that...

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

Usage rate vs. Net Rating (bubbles are proportional to Player Efficiency Rating) This is to generally show (what is widely known) that usage is negatively correlated with efficiency. So if you want to see Haliburton or Talley get more usage, their efficiency will drop too (which is expected and...

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

Agree, generally as usage increases, offensive efficiency decreases. Halliburton is not there yet scoring in isolation, but a lot of great things happen he has the ball in his hands.

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

Defensively, Lewis has the worst defensive rating on the team- which is likely why he is not seeing the floor.

ISU Individual Player OFF vs. DEF ratings

Offensive and defensive ratings (points per possession x 100) for each individual player as of 1/15/2019. For reference the farther right on the x-axis and lower on the y-axis, the better. These are using estimated point per possession for each player while they are on the court. The size of...

    15 games left (long)

To be real, we are capable of losing any of the remaining games on the schedule. But ISU is also capable of winning any of the remaining games on the schedule too This is not directed towards you, but in general to many CF posters...."stay even". The same people that were saying that ISU would...

    Good IPA's?

There are some many different IPA styles now that it is pretty easy for someone to find something they like. Part of that is the branding of "IPA" is so recognizable that it much easier for brewers to market something called an IPA. Labels can be misleading and creates some beer prejudice...

This is Steve Prohm’s program. Period.

UNC was favored by 12 vs. Louisville. ISU was favored by 9 vs. KSU.

    Time for Two Posts?

@Chitowncy Jacobson, Young, and Lard are all serviceable posts, but I think you have to also consider who is that taking minutes from....a talented, deep group of guards & wings. I do not see many situations where ISU is in a better position to win a game with 2 posts playing in the lineup...
